Bottle top filters

What is the membrane of choice for bottle top filtration of oil and solvents? PVDF, nylon, PP, PES or CA?
Also can ethyl oleate be run through a bottle-top filter without it dissolving the glue of the membrane?

I use Millipore Durapore filters. PVDF .2 micron.

I don't use EO so no idea but I think PVDF is fine for it.

I don't but honestly I don't sweat that stuff. Viscosity of oil is probably the larger factor as the membrane size is equivalent. Even if it took a day...these allow for 250 or 500ml batches. That's a lot.

I use stericup filter because i brew alot, usually when i brew i do +10.000 ml per time i usually do that once every 5 weeks

i used to buy melpore stericup filters but the cost becomes high so i bought a stericup glass one which you could just change its membrane instead of changing the whole filter

i use 0.2 pvdf membrane filters its the best , its a pain in ass tho when you filter water base stuff such as winny

Is this the filter you use? https://www.medical-and-lab-supplies.com/filtration/disposable-vacuum-filters/500ml-millipore-steritop-btf-durapore-pvdf-membrane.html?___SID=U

How long does it take you to filter 500ml?
I tried using the Whatman Zap-cap 0.2um filter with nylon membrane that a lot of people recommend using and even with enough vac pressure from an electric vac pump, it dripped very, very slowly to the point I gave up because it would have literally taken all day to filter 500ml. I was using GSO which does not have a high viscosity. I think the reason it filtered so slowly must have been because the membrane was made from nylon, but I could be wrong.

I have used that filter. Small micron size and 500ml of thick oil....takes time man. Pump it up and let it sit. At this point there's a top on the filter and it's going into sterilized media bottle sealed off by the membrane. Toss it in a cabinet and go about your day.

MCT is likely faster but like I said micron size is the size regardless of brand or material. Thick oils take longer. Bigger batches take longer. Unless you are running a major operation it's not a big deal.

Yes, but this is not reusable,, now am using filter that i can change the membrane of it to save money

I use pvdf never used naylon but yea it takes time because the pores are so small, dont put very high pressure on the pump or you will tear it off, just press it and let it sit
