Bpc-157 and Tb500 elevated liver enzymes

Has anyone experienced high AST and ALT while running BPC157 with TB500?
I was running the combo at 500mcg each everyday for the last 6 weeks went to get blood work and my liver enzymes were 5x the normal range….. (I wasn’t running anything else except my prescribed trt)

These peptides are something I’d like to run long term but not if my liver enzymes are this high. I plan on re testing to compare being off them.

As a side note some of you already know weight training can significantly raise your liver enzymes which my doctor was already worried about despite me telling her it’s just due to training. Long story short I told her to retest me I took 11 days off the gym and liver enzymes were in perfect range. Now she’s going to see this huge spike from the peptides and wonder what’s up.

I mean we talking like 5 points elevated? Or like 50 point elevated?

AST should be elevated more than ALT if due to muscle trauma.

Truthfully, I would be more suspicious or either diet variations OR...Hear me out...a shitty blood draw leading to hemolysis and falsely elevated values (an unappreciated issue).

But those are just reflex answers.

I haven't experienced those elevations with BPC or TB-500 to answer more directly.

Mine were:
AST 231 suppose to be under 36
ALT 150 suppose to be under 50

I’m very strict with diet wither or not its during a gain/cut or maintain phase. I guess you could say my diet is primarily made up of whole foods.

I’m hoping your right with just a one of bad draw.

Good to hear though your experience with these peptides didn’t make a difference.

Ok....steep increase.(And shoot...I missed in your original post you said 5x increase...whoops)

Glad your diet is on point.

You maybe on to something with the training hard especially with that AST. I'll be honest - ive not necessarily worked out so damn hard and then gone to draw blood that I have to make the connection.

May be good to check a CK as well next time perhaps to further confirm muscle trauma (and also maybe make sure if it like Rhabdomyolysis-like inflammation)

The mere fact it was normal 11 days later would make me less concerned...but certainly keep monitoring.

i'm gonna have to say no, theres likely something amiss and not caused by the bpc/tb, in Animal studies(all we have to compare to) bpc157 generally has a protective effect on the liver and can actually lower ast and alt levels caused by injury or stress, again that is all we have to go off of at the moment as not enough human studies on bpc157 and its true benefits, And that "minuscule" amount that you are doing likely isn't doing that to your liver enzymes,, I have done as much as 5 mg of each peptide per day for months and didnt have any liver issues,,

I’ve never heard of BPC-157 or TB-500 causing elevated AST or ALT - doesn’t seem to be a common side effect, if at all. But now you’ve got me curious too. I actually just did my bloodwork yesterday, so I’ll let you know if my liver enzymes came back out of range.

Never had elevated liver enzymes with those, using 1-3g of each. I’ve had AST on the high end of normal post exercise though.

I can’t recall exactly, but I remember listening to a Peter Attia episode where he said his own liver enzymes were drastically affected by exercise and that he sees it in patients. He’ll do a redraw to make sure it’s correlated to exercise and then not worry about it. I’d be les concerned since yours corrected.

Did a quick google and saw higher AST to ALT ratio typically points to post exercise response rather than liver damage.

From the replies so far it makes me feel better that it most likely isn’t the peptides based off the rest of you not seeing abnormal results on blood work.
I will have to repeat the blood work when I can and let you all know.

Yes training from what I’ve heard and experienced shows higher AST compared to ALT that being said there is a higher cap on blood markers for AST.
attached are my liver enzymes training vs not training for approximately 11 days. (Just in case this helps someone reading these posts).

What benefits do ppl get from BPC? Less soreness? Better healing??
To sum it up

Effect
Level of Evidence
Faster tendon healing Strong in animals, widespread anecdotal use
Improved collagen strength Supported in animal studies
Enhanced vascularizationAnimal and cell studies
Long-term tendon strengtheningPromising but not clinically proven in human

Best use cases:
  • Chronic tendonitis (tennis elbow, Achilles, patellar)
  • Post-surgery recovery
  • High-impact sports recovery
  • Joint support during heavy

Interesting. I used BPC/TB500 yrs ago before I really needed it, so I wouldn't have noticed much. Now I have a bit more damage, minor nerve & tendonitis. Maybe time to throw that back in. I just started that AOD peptide supposedly good for nerves & it seems worthwhile.

From what I’ve researched BPC157 definitely should not have any negative effects on the liver. Quite opposite actually. TB500 could indirectly effect the liver if your detox pathways are congested or slow moving from other lifestyle factors or having the MTHFR gene mutation.

Just got my labs back - liver values are solid. AST is 27 and ALT is 23. I did the bloodwork after being on BPC and TB for 6 weeks at 1mg each per day. So based on that, I’d say the issue in your case is probably not from them.

How could someone get bunk peptides? I've been buyin em for 10 yrs & never had an issue. Guess maybe knockoffs are made but they're cheap & compounded by many legit companies. Wish gear were anywhere near the legitimacy.

how long have u been at this art dose? when did u start test?

have u had a recent cold/flu? covid will mess up ur liver. recent being 3-5 months.

any supplements like t boosters or herbs like ashwaganda?

Was running it for approximately 6 weeks prior to the blood work. I’ve been on Trt for the last 8 years at 150mgs per week (within the last 6 months the doctor lowered it to 100mgs per week because my hemoglobin and red blood cells where just over the normal range.

The whole family was horribly sick, yes within 3 months of this blood test but didn’t think that would affect liver enzymes…….

I take a whole list of supplements but have been consistent with what I intake and it didn’t affect previous blood work.

where do you buy them?
I'm in Australia, not sure where you live but peptides on prescription are not really affordable here lol
I'm considering buying them from manufacturers in China and getting them tested
