Breakfast is a bitch!

Ok, here's the situation. Upon waking up, it seems the only thing i can force down my throat is either a coffee or a protein supplement shake.
I can't seem to eat solid foods for the first 3 hrs after waking up.

I literally can't swallow the food, and if I do get a good breakfast down, (which isn't that often) I feel shit for the remainder of the morning/early afternoon.

My calorie intake at the moment is around 3500, and I know that i'd be able to get it around 4000-4500 if I was able to eat in the morning.

My biggest meals seem to be at 5pm, 8pm and 11pm.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

eat yogurt, or oatmeal man.. i used to have the same problems. u just gotta work your way to solid foods.. i couldnt eat shit.. i would gag. eat some fruit or something that isnt so solid
 
Take a shower first.

Drink the water while your in the shower... that should stimulate your appetite. -Your Endo

I used to try to force breakfast down first thing then a protein shake mid morning, but switched it around and works out great. Luckily my job affords me the luxury of eating when ever I want.
 
I mix my MRP with my coffee(6 cups on the coffee pot with 3 scoops of Grow!,,,Blend it and it makes a cool foam on top),,,Now this next suggestion is a joke but it would work,,,Wake up and smoke a doobie;),,,Guaranteed to make a big breakfast look and taste good,,,VDC

Hahaha, I would, but I doubt my boss would appreciate the fact of me going to work stoned every morning with the excuse ' It helps me eat breakfast'. I guess It's just something I need to get accustomed with. I've never been a big morning eater, I give it another few months and my body will be completely used to it.

Start small and get used to eating in the morning,,,Partly it might be a conditioned response,,,Oh and who said you'd go to work after smokin';),,,VDC
 
yeah the doobie would give you an appetite for sure but you might just forget wihat the fuck you needed to do that morning... lol...

like rob3412 said, you need to work up to it. and it will be worth it too. for many years i just couldnt eat anything solid for hours after i woke up, even if i did smoke a doobie, so i did the protein shake thing. not the best idea. you'll never attain the size you're looking for without the real food.over the past couple of years, i switched over from 3-4 shakes plus 2-3 meals ed to 4-5 meals and 1-2 shakes ed and the results have been well worth it. i've finally been able to put on some size.

to break yourself in, don't start with oatmeal. it takes forever for that shit to go down. eat eggs. 2 jumbo whole eggs with a 1/2 pint carton of better-n-eggs plus a couple of pieces of high-fiber bread will give you a great meal. this will give you close to 50g of protein and will down easily. honey nut cheerios, my favorite cereal, with a small protein shake as cheerios doesn't provide enough calories works great. cottage cheese with strawberries and bananas is great and goes down easily. sometimes i'll take out a whole chicken, cooked the night before, and pick that fucker right off the bone. no bread either. just tons of protein and the meat, unlike beef or portk, is soft and goes down easily without much chewing either. these are just some examples to get you on your way. take it slowly at first. consume some solid food and cut your shake down to half the size you normally would eat and work from there.
 
I'm getting hungry just reading Chip's response,,,Sometimes I put Cheerios in my MRP,,,Cheerios is a good source of soluble fiber,,,VDC

i liftat 530am when i wake up ill have a shake i made the night before with whey, oatmeal, peanut butter, creatine. after lifting usualy around 630 ill have another shake of whey , dextrose, creatine. then when i get to work ill have a solid meal between 730-800 graet thing are those pull top chunky soup cans and throw in some extra protien. then the usual for the rest of the day.
