Budget protein shake recipe?

Hey folks in the US. I have a question. Okay so im 8 months in the states. just got a blender so I can make shakes. Regular oatmeal peanut butter banana etc. My question is budget wise would eggwhites for protein and frozen fruits for flavor(or ifnyou have other suggestion for flavor it's appreciated) would be cheaper than just using protein powder?

What do you think I should do?

My go to shake is:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup Skim milk
- 1 cup dry oats
- 1 scoop of protein powder
- I 100 gram spinach
- 3/4 cups Non fat Greek yogurt
- 30 grams Almond Butter
- 1 banana
- 1.5 cups of mixed frozen berries
- 2 Table spoons of Stevia

1000-1100 calories

That's almost the same I have in mind but I never tried stevia or spinach or other greens in it. Will give it a try! Thanks

I buy this, best deal around. They have unflavored as well.

Man that's cheap! Is the taste bearable? Do you recommend the strawberry one or is there other flavors that's good and not too sweet?

The taste is fine to me but i also add pb fit to all my protein powder and chia seeds for taste/different protein source and fullness.

If you're concerned get unflavored, tastes like skim milk. I'm not picky but you can always add those sugar free coffee flavoring syrups(skinny syrup brand comes to mind)

Yes both are cost effective. Mix it right with the protein shakes. Whey protein concentrate or whey protein blends are usually better priced.

And how tasty is it and is it not difficult for digestion after it? I'm interested in trying to drink it before morning training.

I don’t do it for taste. I can down it in 2min. By drinking it fast you will trick your mind and become hungry again sooner. A trick to bulking a lot forget.

Never had a problem with digestion. Maybe if your under 200lbs that could be a issue. But if you find the right protein powder it’s not bad. I like cookies and cream ON with it.
