Pea Protein is CHEAP!! Who has done it?

Soy protein is fine as long as you consume enough to compensate for not so optimal amino balance, even studies proved this.
I think 30% more soy protein was the equivalent to whey when it comes to protein synthesis and as soy Isolate is 90% protein and cost 4$ per kilo it is the cheapest option out there and doesn't taste like ass (looking at you pea prot.)
Doesn't soy promote raised estrogen? I k ow I've read it somewhere.. I always was on the mindset soy is the devil for men's hormones. I may be completely wrong but I know I've been told this before and have read it in the past.

I've been using this brand here.. i believe it's a good price. $54 for the 5lb bag.

They also over 15lbs for $112.. they have a large variety of sizes and types of whey. Downside is they only offer chocolate, vanilla , and strawberry. I'm a simple man and I'm big on saving money. This was the best I was able to find a few years ago, that was good quality and consistent pricing.

It doesn't raise estradiol or any endogenous estrogen (estrone [E1], estriol [E3]). Rather, soy is a phytoestrogen. You can mostly ignore the paranoia and stupidity surrounding this. It's mostly just a bit cardioprotective as a consequence of this... but, it's just not a great quality protein for muscle gain. That's the real reason you wouldn't rely on it, and certainly not supplement it, for muscle size gains.

I was misled thankyou for the lesson ..appreciate that. I mbe always avoided "soy" because I was always told its bad and bad for hormones.

im not a vegan or something so don't take this the wrong way, but why do you say soy is not so great for muscle gain, is it the aminoacid profile or something else?

4$ per kg? That's very cheap. In EU it's 12 - 15€ per kg (yes, when buying 2.5 - 5kg) ...
in EU yes, but the cheapest is imported from china, if you want better quality use the Belgium one,
and you won't find these prices at supplement stores look at raw ingredient suppliers for the food industry, soy isolate is used ALOT in food hence why it's cheap.. supplement stores just mark it up...
same goes for whey concentrate... whey isolate is exclusive for the supplement industry as far as I can see.. hence much higher prices.

Thanks for this. It's about time someone in the know made a statement as to the lack of quality regarding soy protein in BBing terms.

I tend to use proteins that supply the needed aminos in the ratio that will grow muscle. Taking in large amounts of certain aminos that are out of proportion to what is needed is of no benefit as i see it. And makes those just a waste.

Optimim nutrition, which is a name brand. Is cheaper than that by far as far as serving size/cost per serving

Finally, now I will be at peace. Thanks for clearing that part. One more bs eliminated from my life lol.

I will check them out for sure..
I haven't bought any protein in 2 years. When I last bought 15lbs of this 2 years ago it was damn close to the best deal around. I currently am using this protein that is left over from 2 years ago. It was stored properly and seems just fine still lol.. I was surprised!!! I still habe like 8 pounds atleast left.. that will last me awhile for now because I'm just on a cruise and diet phase. Only weight train 2 -3 days a week and it's medium weight. Really pushing just to get to a healthy weight again as fast as possible with minimal to no drugs. Just 175mg test and the rest is diet and exercise. I have clen, dnp, t3,t4,gh,and a full stock of gear. It's tempting but this is about the discipline for me right now.. I need to get back in the mindset..

AA profile
This is interesting. I buy Textured Vegetable Protein for $5/kg, and regularly just treat it like cereal or filler for my smoothies/shakes. Do you have any suggestions on what I could include to compensate for the poor AA profile?

Usually I just toss an egg or two, or cup of regular milk in.

I would think adding EAA/BCAA supps will suffice

Yeah, you're right about the prices. Crazy high! Not just protein powder but creatine. Go figure. Never tried pea protein, I stay away from plant based protein altogether. If I come across whey concentrate and the ratio of pro to carb is something like 25gms. Pro to 2-4 gms. Carb and it's under 50.00, it's mine. I will also go for a good buy for combo (whey, egg white, casein) I'll jump on it. If at the moment you can get whey isolate for 58.00 (5 lbs.) that's a good deal. I'd jump on that if you prefer isolate.
Where are you getting 5 lbs of whey isolate for only $58?

@RomanMVP if you'd be so kind as to tell us what kind of protein powder you use personally tia
Allstarhealth .com, Muscleandstrength.com, dpsnutrition.net. recently picked up a 10 lb. bag of Rule 1 wheyblend for 79.99 from Alstar, Nutrex 100% Whey Pro for 69.99 (10 lbs.) from muscleandstrength.com. DPS has some good deals at times, but recently their shipping has gotten stupid. Nutrex 100% Whey
