Buying Gear

Alright guys need some advice..... i want to make a purchase on some gear from a source who is offering VERY good prices for a limited time. I want to get it while its still this cheap, but there is one problem....It is tuesday and i will be leaving for a week vacation on friday, maybe saturday. Would it be too risky to place my order before i leave?, b/c it may sit in the mail room or in my dorm mail room for too long? I am gettin it sent to my dorm at college. It is supposed to be 2-3 day delivery, but my dorm will be closed the whole time i am gone, so what will happen w/ the package until i get back and my dorm opens back up?
Any answers Appreciated ASAP, thanks fellas

Do you guys think it is any less safe ordering it to a dorm?, usually get mine off the street, but sick of the prices

Is it safer at a dorm.. No, I wouldn't think so.. because you run the risk of someone stealing your mail! Is it common practice for the staff to open your mail (It's not usually legal, but you may have signed something allowing this when you agreed to abide by the rules of living in the dorms).. If you have a lock box, and only you and the mailman have the key..you should be fine... But really, I have no idea?

If your mother mailed you a $500 dollar watch .. would you feel comfortable about letting it sit in it's box at your dorm for a week while waiting on you to get home?

If you answer yes to that question..then it should answer your other question also.
