[CA] SB-1322 Commercial sex acts: minors.

Look first you have to consider who is the victim of this crime? It's not the employers (pimps) It's not the consumers (johns)
It is the girl out there turning tricks for whatever reasons they have that are getting taken advantage off. Some of them get raped, some get taken advantage of financially, physical abuse, you name it.
The reason why they are so easily taken advantage of is because they cannot turn to the law when shit goes bad, because they themselves are doing something illegal and will also get in trouble.
This legislation, although not perfect, is meant to help these young wemon by giving them the opportunity to reach out to law enforcement without it legally ruining their lives.

Truthfully the best deterrent would be if you convicted of having sex with a kid you should be put down. If you force kids into prostitution you should be put down. Get the kid counseling.

Obviously that won't happen but the penalty needs to be so stiff these sick fucks will leave the kids alone. If we're not willing to protect our kids as a society that says more about us then anything else.
That's how it works in some countries overseas haha. If they catch you in the act they off you right on the spot.

But prostitution legal? Idk man

Do you think prohibition of prostitution has helped curb the issue at all?

That doesn't mean it's legal and anything goes, there should be some regulation to it... But moving it out of the streets would be good.

It's kind of funny, porn and prostitution almost go hand in hand but are viewed totally differently. A lot of porn would be deemed prostitution except the addition of the camera filming it changes the whole dynamic somehow lol.

I could be swayed
Havent really thought that much about it honestly
Good points tho

The red light district in Germany is interesting, it's a street that everyone knows is there. No women are allowed to go through there except the girls working, it's not amongst other shops or anything, it's just meant for that one thing.

As far as regulation, I'm not totally familiar with how much the government watches it. In the US where prostitution/brothels are legal, people have to get tested something like every 2 weeks or so? The girls are protected, can negotiate safely, aren't going to be hired if they are addicts trying to support a habit, etc etc.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, girls can get in some shitty situations being on their own... Or some drunk college kid just trying to get a blowjob gets an unnecessary criminal record and the clap after a long night out.

@Eman you know what, from the chilean law the child never will be culprit of nothing; prostitutes or scorts are not culprit too.
However our law punishes the violence sex act: the forced act itself.

But the big but is sociological or social. The last is the lawyer knowdledge but the normal people think that the adult is culprit, violence or not,the same about the adult females.

So red market or not the main point to me is cultural. I mean Asian cultures allow the incest like a traditional issue.Hard to believe.

Then currently dont understand why you laught of me when I talked about my sextherapy at 17:00 hrs.

The case of rape is different bc is not a moral issue in practical terms. Is fact violence against the women will.

Has the death penalty stopped murder? It hasn't. What makes you think it would stop such a lucrative trade like child prostituiton?

If the death penalty was used swiftly and harshly instead of 10yrs of appeals that may help accross the board. At the very least the punishment would fit the crime.

Im not so concerned with stopping it. Bad guys will do bad things. Its more about justice
But i believe if your convicted of child molestation or child prostitution(pimp) you deserve to meet your maker.
Hell it dont have to be expensive endeavor either.
What do .223 rounds go for these days? Jus need 1
Whats the cost of imprisoning said felon?

One of my best friends was convicted of murder. Served 7 years of a 43 year sentence. An unrelated arrest after 7 years provided DNA matching the DNA found on the murder weapon. My buddy is now free and was cleared of all involvement after interviewing the DNA "donor". Had he been executed that woulda been even more fucked up. Im all for the death penalty but lets catch them on camera or something so there is no questions as to what happened.

Just have to have faith in the judicial system. Thats where the burden lies
I also think the methods should be changed to hanging or firing squad.
Effective, cheaper and maybe mor intimidating.
I like the firing squad technique
Hanging is a brutal way to go

More intimidating? You think if we hang people or shoot them instead of a lethal injection it'll reduce crime? o_O

The cost of a lethal injection is less than $100...

Like most things theres no perfect answer

True.. kind of... So, like you said, we do the best we can. Which includes time for appeals to be submitted and sentences reversed depending on the situation. This is a far better way for a criminal justice system to operate... This isn't a third world country where we have a trial and walk the convicted right out the back door to be shot. There are many good reasons why we don't operate this way, and never should.

If you want the US to save money, look to the thousands incarcerated for non violent drug offenses, casualties of a failed war on drugs. We run prisons like businesses and incarcerate more people than any other country... Speeding up executions is the last thing that should be on our priority list.

I agree with you to a point. Of course there should be a legitimate appeal process. Multiple appeals simply to drag it on because you can is excessive.

To the non violent offenders incarcerated I agree in most cases it's a waste and should be overhauled.

Hanging is brutal I agree but I believe it would be affective for that reason. I don't believe it is quite cruel and unusual so you use that one for the child rapists.

Multiple appeals simply to drag it on because you can is excessive.

Appeals with no real legitimate footing don't tend to drag things out very long. Appeals get quickly denied if there is no legitimate reason to approve them to proceed.

The decision on who is killed and who spends life in prison seems arbitrary anyways...

Many death row inmates are in a cell for 22-23 hours a day for years on end... As far as I'm concerned, a lethal cocktail would be a welcomed relief.

I dont agree on the non violent drug offense thing
What are we talking about exactly? Pot?
I dont think that should be illegal any ways. Not that ive always thought like that. But we dont need them in prison. Clogging it up
What about meth? Or bath salts? Heroin? Life destroying drugs. Peddled by life destroyers. Cuz they didnt shoot anybody...that we know of...classifies it as non violent? Maybe im a stick in the mud but i dont want them fuckers around.
