Can a bodybuilder get away with this food?

My question is when getting ready for a contest is it okay to eat turkey bacon and is it okay to include "I cannot believe it's not butter" with brown rice?

I ate turkey bacon and used "I cannot believe it's not butter" with my brown rice when I did my contest last year.

I was in very good condition BUT I'm thinking had I not eaten turkey bacon and "I cannot believe it's not butter" I probably could have came in a little better conditioned?

Any one want to help me out and answer this?

Aside from sodium concerns(only the last couple of weeks) I don't see why turkey bacon would be that bad. However, I will say this. Go compare your turkey bacon with regular bacon. Do you see much of a difference? Not really, right. I think it's more of a scam than anything.

Cont.

Grizzly , okay no turkey bacon. But what about adding "I cannot believe it's not butter" in my brown rice and oatmeal?

Is that okay or no? What about eating grits? Is that okay to eat?

The T-bacon in my local supermarktet is has 2 grams of fat and 10 grams of protein for 3 slices............and like 800mg of sodium.
Bacon is like cheese.........its makes everything better !

You would be surprised but I believe canadian bacon is better for you than turkey. It depends on your body and genetics and if you are cutting down. The I cant believe it's not butter is fine.

Hey, I want that stuff. The turkey bacon here (Jennie-O and Louis Rich) have approximately 3 grams of protein and 2 grams of fat.

Compared that to regular, better tasting, non-lab created bacon and the only difference is 2 grams of fat and maybe 1 gram of protein more in the regular bacon.

What are u saying???

So for my next contest it's thumbs up on the turkey bacon or thumbs down?

Here's a lists of things I ate during my last contest.

Rice cakes w/sugar free jam. ( I'd eat a bag a day)
Brow rice using "I cannot believe it's not butter."
Crystal Lite
Diet Coke
Grilled chicken
Turkey patties
Steak ( once per week)
Frozen Veggies mainly green peas.
Sugar free Jello
Oatmeal
Grits
Egg whites
Turkey bacon
Salady with fat free dressing

Five weeks out from my contest my carb intake was 200mgs a day and I increased it to 400mgs on Saturday and Sunday.

Now can someone tell me what on my food lists HAS TO GO?

Yes I can! The rice cakes and jam HAVE to go. Believe it or not, they're very high glycemic carbs. That's why, contrary to popular belief, they're actually counter-productive to dieting. I'd also limit the diet coke and crystal light. Maybe not in the first weeks, but as the contest grows closer I would severly restrict or even completely eliminate them. Maybe not so much the CL, but the Diet coke for sure.

With the salad, I'd make sure it was with good, dark green lettuce like Romaine. Actually, I wouldn't eat salad at all, but that's because I hate the shit.

The turkey patties might be better if you exchanged them for an actual turkey. I know when I was competing I'd cook a turkey or two each week and eat that when I was sick of chicken and tuna.

That's about all I can think of.
