Can anyone recommend a good heat plate with digital temp control?

Call me lazy but I really don’t want to use my stove top and the digital temp control seems so much easier. Does anyone have one they like and can recommend?
Yes.
There you go

Cheap, reliable, no maintenance, economic.

You just dump it in the beaker and crank up the heat of your stove at the lowest.

It touches the bottom of the beaker. Don't fool yourself that this is the real temperature of the solution.

Normally the temperature is measured in the middle of the solution.

Can be used to stir also.

It's just perfect.

Who needs a Maserati when there is LADA?

Very true. Here I am looking to get all high tech when it’s not necessary for my personal use. The whole point is saving money. Thanks for setting me straight. What do you use to sterilize your tools like thermometer and lab spoon?

Nah just get a magnetic stirrer hot plate lmao.
I just pointed out another solution, for you to consider.
I have a magnetic stirrer on the way actually.

Soak in IPA
Doesn't matter what happens in the beaker as long as you don't actually shit in it.

Filter,done.

Lab spoon what?

You mean table spoon? The one for the soup, right?

The filtered product is what is important not to contaminate.

I repeat,as long as you don't shit or piss in the beaker.

Ha. Thanks bro. I thought you were joking about the magnetic stirrer plate. Which one did you get? I saw one on Amazon I wanna get by I’ll go with the thermometer you recommended for now. I feel like the guy who just learned how to play pool and walks into a pool hall with a 500$ Pool stick. I need to sharpen my chemistry skills first.

Yeah well now that I saw this one you just posted I’ll just get that. It’s not expensive at all. My wife is gonna have a heart attack though. She’s a chemist so maybe she will think it’s fun. Lol

I got a magnetic mixer heat plate for like 45 bucks on Amazon. Even came with 7 different sized magnetic stirrers. Used my digital thermometer to check the Temps and mark a spot on the dial with a sharpie. So now I turn it straight to that spot everytime and perfect Temps.

So you mark the dial location that has your desired temp and it will maintain at that temperature without increasing?

Yup within a couple degrees. Because the heat turns on and off of course. So if the max heat I want is 50c I find the spot that maxes out at 50c mark it and it bounces between 47c and 50c.

It was 49 but it's out of stock now. I wanna say the same combo could be purchased separately. 7 stirrers and the hot plate for nearly the same total. Find the sweet spot for desired temperature and mark the dial. All set.

Yeah- I have an electric stove but once it heats up it’s hard to regulate. It just keeps getting warmer.
This works a little different. Like I said it will go up to a certain temp then fall down a certain number of degrees. Always the same amount though. So you can mark it. I made a fat line with the sharpie (first time) the left edge is 40c and the right edge is 50c. Make a thin line for more accuracy but it won't hold at exactly any temp. There will be fluctuations. I dont see it as an issue at all though. 45c-50c without going over is straight imo.

That’s still much better than what I have and not killing the pocket.

Looking at this one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Magnetic-Stirrer-with-Heating-Plate-85-2-Hotplate-mixer-110V-Digital-Display-US/263276524854?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20180816085401%26meid%3D14e556125217423eb0ff1c889d3485a7%26pid%3D100970%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dag%26sd%3D133292850128%26itm%3D263276524854%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26brand%3DVEVOR&_trksid=p2380057.c100970.m5481&_trkparms=pageci%3A28895227-759f-11eb-9e2e-3ea967181fe2%7Cparentrq%3Acd8b646f1770a4d4f0780688ffdb3848%7Ciid%3A1
