ouuuuch! man o man do my forearms hurt! The area where this hurts is on the outside of the forearm .... from the side of the wrist up to almost the elbow in between where the muscle is indented.... all along there in a straight line. (if you hold your hand up to your chest tightly and there is that line in the side of your forearm.. thats where it hurts) It doesnt hurt in my muscle, feels more like tendon. It really hurts the most when I do curls.... but everything else seems to be fine. I work the forearms on the machines and everything.... but this just is killing me.... i'm trying to lighten up at the gym... but IDK. I have jumped up about 30 - 40 lbs dumbbells in 4 weeks on bench and incline.... is it possible that my muscle has just grown a lil too fast?

So its in that nice little grove on the outside, running from your wrist up near your elbow? To me, that is right over the bone where no tendon or muscle tissue exists. You sure you havent bruised it with your forearm movements?

yeah it is definitely in that groove, and thats why i can't understand it. There is nothing there to strain or pull or anything..... I don't know what to make of it. I had this problem about 2 years ago and the only thing the doctor had to say was that i was over working it and to take some time off.... well it worked to take time off, but it came right back when i went back to heavy lifting, so i dont know what to think..... any ideas?

Do you do preacher curls? Man, I've had a pain like that too. My old workout partner had a pain in that area especially when doing preacher curls. He hurt really really bad. He went to the doctor and found that he had stress fractures in his forearm. See a doc.

Sounds like good advice.

I got the same pain when i was getting pretty heavy with straight bar curls. It seemed that every time i got those pains during arm workouts was when i was doing straight bar curls. It was in the exact same area as you. I just stop doing them for about three weeks and they went away.

This is the bain of my existence. You have severe tendonitis in your forearms, not forearm splints (i thought I had those too.)

You need to do NO UPPER Body work for 2 weeks and begin doing dixie cup massages on the area daily. (if you don't know what this is, ask.)

After two weeks, get back into it slowly, and ice your forearms after every single upper body day. It sucks, but it works.

I had/have a similar problem. I believe mine stemmed from the fact that my strength went up before my tendons could handle the increased weight. Straight bar curls and the Hammer Lat pull down machine just killed my right arm. It hurt to shift gears while drivng the car. The pain was there for weeks.

The strange thing is that it was my right arm at first, at the inside elbow, I went easy on it, most likely favoring my left arm, then the left began to get sore, but the pain was sharper and in the forearm. the pain in the right arm almost disappeared at the same time. I just wrap my left arm with a velcro tennis elbow strap and that does the trick. Now my left arm is 100% better.

I got it bad also.....in my left forearm. Went to see my sportsmed Doc and he gave me "prolo" therapy. It really works good.

i'm going to have to try these... i really dont wanna take 2 weeks off yet... specailly in the middle of a cyp/eq cycle!

Well good luck.

Wraps will help it so it won't hurt as bad while you are lifting, but will do nothing to fix the problem.

Prepare for it to become much worse.

I also have the same problem. I switched to hammers, and reverse grip, for a while and that seemed to do the trick. Also as a few members of this board suggested I used some lotion and ran my fingers up my forearm, found the spot where it was hurting, and rubbed the hell out of it. I understand it to be caused by muscle fibers fusing together, or something like that. http://www.anabolic-source.net/ Go to this web site, and on the training forum there is a thread on this, with questions answered by a chiropractor.
Good luck.

The best way I can describe it is shin splints of the forearm . I think I know what you guys are talking about. I get a pain in my forearm when I use the ez curl bar. It feels just like shin splints to me. Hinders my ability to lift real heavy with this bar.

I have the same problem i just got a shot of cortizone in my elbow two weeks ago. now i were a velcro brace and it seemed to help yesterday but time will tell. i'll keep you all posted.

yeah keep me posted!

hey-highoutput--I have been having problems with my elbow since I started my cycle and am curious if the shot of cortizone will cause problems to me while on the cycle. I have been iceing it down every night followed by heat, and keeping it wrapped, especially while I work out. I also take the glucosamine/msm tablets, and a couple of ib profin 30min before workin out. Any suggestions?
