Of course normal gym days also but just wondering if you can gain muscle from training at home if you cannot get to the gym etc and if so what would be some good things to do?

Sure, what's stopping you? I have a couple of Olympic weight sets, heavy dumbbells up to 150lbs, a power rack with chin up bar, Olympic benches, dip station, t bar row, and cable machine. It's all in my garage. I almost never go to the gym.
Haha thanks for the reply but I'm not on about buying a munch of machines etc I'm thinking more body weight and dumbbells sort of thing pull up bar etc nothing to big

Get a barbell and some plates. Power cleans, front squats, over head press, deadlifts, RDL, floor presses

I have a home gym with squat racks, barbell and about 375 lbs of weights. It gets the job done.

Big ass tires in the backyard for flipping, my kid sits on my back for weighted pushups on days I can't get to the gym also got some old ass 40lb york dumbbells for curls and such ;)

Hes an idiot and will be banned when he goes on anouther rampage with this handle:rolleyes:.I really like heavy tires for my days I can't get to the gym works legs, back arms full body. Live in an apartment no problem just flip it up and down the stairs till the cops show:D

No. I mean just look at guys who train at home. I mean Brian Shaw for example, clearly he has not built any muscle working out at home

Of course, my garage gym has nicer equipment than 90% of commercial gyms.

As far as without equipment, you will need a minimum of gymnastics rings, pull up bar, parallettes and a weighted vest. You will have to use leverage as your weights or use the weighted vest. Gymnastics get big and shredded using this equipment. You will never be bodybuilder big but you can get pretty big. Grab the book overcoming gravity.

I still suggest eventually you get a bar and at least 300 pounds for leg work, you will just have to clean and press the weight then lower behind the head to get into most positions. Bodyweight leg work really only gets you so far, even pistol squats. The weighted vest especially if you get one that goes up to 80 lbs, will bring you a long long ways but eventually after two year or so of slow and steady progress you are going to want more.

Another thing you can do it make yourself sandbags. Get a sandbags from home Depot that weighs 50, put in multiple trash bags and tape the hell out of it with duct tape. After the 50lbs is easy, make one with 75 and 100 by pouring the sand in industiral trash bags and taping. Walking lunges with an 80 lbs vest on is hard but doing it while also holding 100 lbs over your head will put some mass on you. Try it for a quarter mile and see for your self.

Yeah you Can I went from 130 to 200 in my dads home gym it was decent but nothing crazy I had to buy some plates and a few extras

I have a squat rack/cage and a couple of Olympic weight sets, a dumbbell rack with sets of 3 to 50 lbs and a couple of tread mills.

Not a Golds gym but sometimes that workout that can be done at home helps. It's better than missing a workout because of being pressed for time.
