So I'm looking into taking the venture into home brewing, since it really doesn't seem that complicated to do, especially just the basic test c or tren E

Looked on medlab and the crimping tools are like $180....theres a ton on ebay in the $40 range and many that even come with stoppers and caps. Does anyone know if any brands on there are good quality?

Try to ask the seller if they're made of Steel or Aluminum
you can ask if a magnet attracts itself to it.

Those made of Aluminum (or similar non magnetic alloys) suck and will break despite gently use.

Also an used, top-brand one sold at a discount in good condition.
might be preferable to a new, crappy quality one.

It it's for anything large scale
buy at least 2 tools
you don't want to keep customers waiting just because the tool broke down and the new one hasn't arrived.

Also, make sure it matches your vials neck mm size
as some are intended for small, hcg or slin-like mini vials.

Nothing large scale by any means, not talking thousands of vials or anything.

And I'm still doing my research on there, but it seems like the standard is 20mm

1 Check the vial manufacturer' specs

2 grab a ruler and measure it
these are the most common vial sizes

Hey Buddy,
I learned hard way not to go with lower cost crimper stay away from the non/brand names. Wheaton or Aligient are two top brands but make sure get right one for caps you want some do not work on flip tops. https://ezvialz.com/ Has some good info about this topic and talk to customer service make sure you get what looking for, I spent 3x as much as if I went with top brand...and like master said you can find one at discount used as I did on eBay. Hope info helps!

Thank you very much for your input. I'd definitely like to find a happy medium. No sense spending $40 and having it break, but if there's a $75-$100 one that will work as well as the $200 id be happy.

I like the flip top, but I prefer the ones with the little metal circle in the middle you tear out.
