Cardio programming

What does your cardio programming look like? I started doing 10min walks but decided to start doing some high intensity as well. What do you do, how long per session, and how much total in a week on top of your strength program?

Should undulate with your goals. 10k steps a day seems to be a reasonable and meaningful goal for baseline health and it’s what I try to hit when in a growth period. 10k steps for me personally is about a 20m walk + my normal daily activity.

After that, depends on the goal and I think in general most people would benefit from a combination of HIIT and LISS anyways. Sprinting is about the most athletic thing you can do and I’d bet <1% of the population moves in any form of maximum exertion at any point during a standard week.

Long way of saying get a baseline level of movement for health and use added HIIT and LISS as needed.

Me personall:
Offseason: 4-5x20m walks a week
Prep: as high as 120m of LISS 6x a week depending on the need

Ive been trying out some cycling after doing some sprints and hurting me knee. Admittedly, Im trying out high intensity stuff so I can have some more stamina while fuckin haha amongst the other benefits

A fine goal

And when I say sprint I mean max effort; stairs, running, biking, swimming, etc

Biking is amazing, i go up and down these huge hills, the rush of cruising down fast, kind of gives adrenaline for biking back up.

And quads grow crazy.

For me I do 10k steps a day, and 3 days a week on my off days I do Hiit on a bike. I find this works good for me, I will also add in some weighted hikes of 25% of my bw for 25 min when weather permits.
