Cardio regiment?

Well fuck what could I say I got older. I never had to worry about cardio in years past due to having physically demanding jobs and staying active outside I the gym. I've always sat between 10% and 15% body fat an was comfortable with it. Now I don't spend as much time staying active outside of the gym and my ass is in a office chair 7 hours a day and I've pack on a solid 20lbs worth of fat probably between 20 and 25% body fat.

What do you do for cardio off cycle? I've started with cycling lately but the heat of the georgia summers I almost unbearable in the hours I have available. I also have issues with my right knee and tend to swell up around the joint with any extended time on the bike.

HIIT all the way for me.
I loathe extended cardio sessions mostly bc I shed muscle like water. Sprints, sled/prowler work, heavy bag, farmers walk. I used to jump rope and chop wood religiously, now I use these activities more sparingly unless I'm really trying to drop some weight. If you have joint/mobility issues swimming is a great option and a way to beat the summer heat (I'm well seasoned to the s.ga heat, shit is no joke). Even treading water for a few minutes with burn it up fast.

I have been waking up and taking a 3 mile walk with a weight vest. Takes about 50 min. Currently the vest is 50 lbs and goes up to 66. I will add 2 lbs every lbs I lose. Another benefit is my tiny ass calves seem to be getting bigger

I have really been enjoying it. Had a DEXA scan few months ago at 200 will repeat once I hit goal weight of 180 or so.

I am also a HIIT fan. Battle ropes, Hill sprints/sprints, Rower.
