Although it does get very crowded during the tourist months. They have a great port to charter deep sea fishing trips.I go twice a year and it's a cool place.

I try to hit drum island at least once a year too. It's quite no shopping malls and great fishing. You never know what you'll see out there.Last year I talked to 2 ladies that ran around naked every day.Made me wish I wasn't married.

Max,
I have the remenants of 12 cobias I caught 100yards off nags head beach this summer last two weeks of august in my freezer. Man in those last days of Aug. me and my wife caught them. One day we had two others with us because we could not handle catching them that day. Too sore.....when you hook up on 7-10 cobia a day and theres only two of you then thats some sore people. Cobias are no joke! We caught some schooling Reds one day. 20-45lbs class. My friend who runs a charter boat called me to come up and get in on this action. Oh yeah the cobias were from 30lbs to 55lbs. Caught them sight fishing in the tower on my boat. Mostly spotted them on rays. Some were just cruising and we would run right over them and turn around and try to catch them. I go down there like 5-6 times a year to go fishing. My uncle lives in Wanchese and I keep my boat there ready to go whenever I get down there and then I have very reliable local info-LOL- you don't just show up down there and catch fish like that without a charter unless you good local info. lmk maybe we can have a "Meso Cobia Rodeo"
run it out of Odens if you all dare run Hatteras Inlet-lol. I think OI is more dangerous then HI but everyone is always talking it up as being bad. Run the tides and your good to go. Red skies and tight lines.
Respects,
JMB

Man listen to your wife. I lived in Rocky Mount NC for along time. NC is filled with some really great people and the beaches are awsome. I currently live in the ass crack of the world (North Chicagoland). I have been here three years and all my wife and I can talk about is moving back. In fact I would make about 15k year less than I do now but it would be worth every cent.
