Caswole gets shredded. Tips and opinions on macros

Lol yes I still work. Get up at 5:45 for no gi Jiu-Jitsu which starts at 6 and then go to crossfit from 7-8. Shower and work from 9-5, go back to Jiu-Jitsu From 6-8 then come home, shower and have free time from 8:30 to about 10:45 so lots of time to spare. My wife and kids do jiu jitsu in the evening with me so we have plenty of family time to go around. Life is good.
Life does sound good. Good for you brotha, keep on livin.
 
So things are going well. I've been having to play around a bit with my macros and I am steadily losing fat. Love handles are shrinking and I knew that my abs were hidden in there somewhere! All 6 are visible now,(if the light hits em just right lol ) but mentally today it was playing tricks on me. I have lived the bulk life for some time now so to see some size going away, not much but some it is playing a little bit of a trick on me. But I'm going to continue forward as even if I decided to bulk again I feel like cutting down some would be beneficial and make bulking up that much better if I decided to do that. I was doing a 40 40 20 but have now switched it to - Pro 35% / Carbs 45% / Fats 20%. Think this is still a good ratio to put on muscle and limit fat? If you're seeing results with that macro split, then don't change a thing.

i'm currently eating at maintenance with a very similar split and strength is steadily increasing, so i'm rather pleased with that and won't be altering it until later this year when i begin the next bulk cycle.

Perhaps, but i don't want to lose too much more too quickly ya know.
 
Those macros work good for me if I'm being really active which it sounds like you are. Sometimes I feel like my carbohydrates are too low and need to bump them up like what you just did. Good job making progress!!
 
Ok dudes, as old Caswole here approaches 40 I am starting to feel the toll that powerlifting is taking on my shoulders ,elbows ,wrists, knees Etc plus living the bulking life to get stronger is putting a bit of a spare tire around the waist LOL. I want to try something new while I can still look good haha. So I've decided to drop some fat and see if we can get a look at those abs that have been hiding for so long. Changing up training to more traditional body building style and totally revamping my anything goes style of eating. I'm currently at 228 lb @ about 5'9. BF % is 16%.
Currently just using test cyp @ 300mg every 4 days. Not gonna get too crazy and try to be lazy and rely on gear as I've done inn the past. Anyways any tips on how you've gotten ripped would be appreciated and what you think a good macro layout would be for me. Thx brothers.
I just started something similar 5 weeks ago. I cut out most carbs during the day and added 3-5 days of cardio per week for 20-40 minutes. Dropped 10lbs so far and am feeling pretty good. Haven't been completely rigid with the diet, but am eating carbs in the morning. I also quit eating out and am meal prepping all my meals.
 
Yeah I'd say the biggest change that I have made is cutting out all fast food and junk food and sweets. Upped my water intake big time and it's working


That alone will make a big difference in leaness . If I drop my nightly ice cream my abs come back .

Well I would hate for you to give up your nightly ice cream ogh! And hell no, that is like torture. I love steak and rice but 5 to 6 times a day I will never do again! Maybe once or twice but that's about all I can handle! And yeah imagine that, I stop eating Big Macs all day long and I am less fat! LOL we really are fuckin rocket scientists around here haha

Im trying to blend the Vertical diet on some days and the Mediterranean diet on other days for some balance . Its a typical low carb days/high carb days diet . And Paleo diet some days too...

I can eat steak and rice constantly and never get sick of it. I actually lived that diet. I'm going back on it in 3wks.I use it to bulk though.
