if androgel is being used at 5mg/day and you want to change to test cyp injection do you need to frontload with 200mg shot and stop androgel application then go to 100mg shot one week later?
or do you do a 100mg shot and keep administering androgel at the same dose or a reduced dose for 1 week then cease androgel and commence with a 100mg shot as trt?
i know the frontload going by "recipe for trt" is for those starting with test injection i was just wondering how the transformation from gel to shot would be administerded.
again i know blood test need to be done,i am only looking the desired schedule.

No, you do not want to frontload 200mg if you're already using the gel. What you do is apply the gel normally and give your first 100mg injection the same day. The next day you apply 1/2 the amount of gel. Then discontinue the gel. I remember Swale saying this which is how I know.

That's the same thing I did. Put the gel on around 7:00 am and then went to the doctor and got my first shot around 9:00am. It was a wash though - you really don't get a big spike right after the injection it takes some time and by then the Androgel from that morning has more than likely been used up (just my observation).

The Androgel doesn't get "used up" in 2 hours. It just gets fully absorbed into the skin. It is released slowly in the bloodstream - not all immediately. The Androgel keeps your test levels high all day.

I could have had better wording. I meant that by time the injection started kicking in that the gel had worn off already (I really started feeling the injection about half-way through the following day).

That's why you are supposed to put a full dose on in the morning and then get the shot. The next day you take 1/2 dose of gel. That will help bridge the gap while the Cyp is building up in your system. By the time the second dose of gel is gone your T should be close to the max anyway from the Cyp.
