Cheapest method for sealing vials

Did you know super glue was invented for Vietnam to seal wounds and does not kill you, same thing as liquid bandages but more effective. ......?

I was about to say that - you can buy a Dermabond pack - the sterile medical version of superglue - used for gluing wounds - maybe that'll do the trick, just have someone hold your beer.

My bad assumed you were talking shit sorry man.No I have no intention of injecting glue ever or passing a needle through it. I originally was commenting on using vial sleeve stoppers so no need for crimper

It is made by the same people who make all the other stoppers and comes from a med supply company. You have no clue what you are talking about. I have been doing this year's. I happened to share one fuck up story where I used too large a vent pin starting out, and if you Google search. MANY people have used hot glue gun for the exact same reason

No worries

A picture vs a thousand words - sure sounded like you had some truly woodshed lab going on.

Stay safe, whenever you see specialty tooling, it's probably for a reason.

Nothing wrong with saving money if done correctly. Do you buy raws to brew your own gear?????? Why????? Are you trying to save money??????? Yeah that's why

Hi ya'll looky here - hold my beer while I hot glue this here vial sealed shut real good.

1 Stoppers shouldn't move = duct tape as solution lol
2 Will WD-40 lube up my joints better than Deca does?
:D

Now seriously
Rubber stoppers and crimps are like dollar a dozen
pretty sure you can crimp a few ones yourself with just pliers. Probably won't look neat but hillbilly crimp works ok.

You need a good seal for your vials. When purchasing the vials ask what the crimp neck size is. The majority of your vials are going to be 13mm or 20mm. When getting the stoppers it depends on if you are using eo or not. If not using eo any of the butyl rubber stoppers will work. I never was a fan of the two legged stoppers. They have alot of cheap chinese hand crimpers that work real well for under $50 or you can get a used wheaton crimpenstein for $250-500 but you have to make sure the crimpenstein head is for flip top seals. Or if you do not want to invest all that you can 100 sterile 10ml vials on ebay for around $100.

Whats up meso,

Been looking into homebrew and got a question. What supplies are needed for filling and sealing the vials themselves?

So....

What size vials?
What size rubber stopper?
What size seal?
And what is the cheapest way to crimp? If there is an alternate method please share but if not what size crimper and brand? Thanks in advance. I cant seem to find this info with a straight answer to conclude my research
Just buy presealed and sterile 10, 20 ,30,50,60ml vials if your just brewing smaller amounts . or invest in a autoclave , crimpers and all needed equipment in order to insure a sterile vial of quality gear
Just my 2 cents!!

Also when selecting your caos if you are using flip tops make sure when you order whether you are getting flip off or flip off/tear off

The cheapest way to get a good crimp is to use a C-clamp from the auto parts store and press the top and stopper down into the vial. Use some common sense with the amount of pressure.

Then just gently fold the aluminium over the underside with the back of a butter knife or other hard object. This accomplishes the same thing as the crimper does, but it's not quite as attractive.
