Chest stretch - increased ROM and flexibility

Philosophically, I try to get maximum ROM out of my chest work (most work actually) - for example, I go deep on dips (I have no shoulder issues) and I go as low as I can with DBs on all bench work. (I avoid BB work as I feel it has such reduced ROM.)

To stretch the chest, I lie down on a flat bench, and pick up some light weights (15s or 20s) and hold them loosely, with straight arms, I then let the weights pull my hands (palms up) to the floor, stretching the chest as much as possible. I'm now almost to the point of being able to rest the weights on the floor - although progress is slowing, with only 2-3 inches left to go.

I do this with my arms at 90 degrees, 45 degrees, and straight up, to stretch all areas of the chest and other muscles involved.

I wonder if anyone else is doing this, and your thoughts on "maximum" ROM. Am I overdoing it, is there any downside, how do you estimate the benefits?
