Coinbase closed my account - new exhchange?

Hi,

So coinbase just closed my account for not sure what reason, as their mail doesnt explicitly provide the reason, but from reading their ToS I assume it could be:
  1. Transactions to or from a tainted address

One of the sources I used maybe had an address that was flagged or idk. Never used coinbase for anything else, just cycle ordering (maybe 10 times in my life).
Anyone else here with the same surprise from coinbase recently?

Anyway - now im wondering which exchanges people use here other than coinbase, as it seems its kyc is cracking down on random test cycle orders (you know, the priority obviously, cant have too many jacked people here..)

Im based in EU, if you can please suggest some exchanges for me, thanks!

I am in the same situation, email received today stating "account successfully deleted"

That sucks and sending directly to a "tainted" address usually a source's addy will definitely do it. Send to an external wallet that YOU control from CB first then from that external wallet pay for your order. Another thing that might raise a flag is the frequency and amount of purchases/sales of bitcoin. I'd just make small purchases over time to be ready for a future order so when ready to order I'd send it to my external wallet to pay for the order.

So now EU is instituting KYC (Know Your Customer) like here in the States?

I was using cash app successfully until yesterday. I went to send the coins and cash all told me it was cancelled for my protection. The address was suspicious and flagged. So I sent the coins to my exodus wallet for the first time and then sent them to the supplier from there.

Lets hold hands brother ...... My Coinbase account were also closed today !!!

They had looked through my transactions, and felt the need to close my account.... or something like that - they did not say if any adress I sent to were flagged....

So have just opened a kraken account instead - bought 50 euro just to fiddle around with , and the withdrawal is immediately on 'hold' for security reasons for the next 72 hours...... Bloody hell + Ff's !!! happy days

Over It Ugh GIF

All of these exchanges can shut down your account from day to day with some bullshit ToS reasoning. Nothing you can do about it, and they will steal your money.

Coinbase once froze my account with 5000 euros inside.

It took them months to open it. I thought I would never see that money again - it was all my savings. Since then, I've gone 100% cold wallet.

The saying goes: "Not your keys, not your coins."

Yeah, this goes back at least 1,5 year because when I started it was mandatory for the exchange platforms. For external wallets I guess it’s optional, I found one who doesn’t require kyc, otherwise it seems pointless to me.

CashApp has also been doing like what Coinbase has been doing and the same rule applies: Buy your coin on CashApp -> Send to external wallet -> Send payment to sponsor.

You should not be sending directly to wallets who are used to collect payment for illegal products.

Always route payments. Similiar to what was mentioned, I use Exodus, there are plenty of others. Choose your poison.

That being said, BTC is also not anonymous.
Purchasing BTC in most countries requires KYC.
Every transaction is public ledger, meaning it is available for the public to see.
It can be traced back to your wallet, and your wallet is known, due to KYC. (Even if you route payments)

Non kyc acquisition plus non kyc wallet.
