Out of curiousity Swale, would you happen to know what major impact squatting (or any compound leg work) has on hormone release (e.g., elevated cortisol, test., etc...).
The reason I ask is because ever since I started feeling totally run down mentally and phsyically ( https://thinksteroids.com/community/threads/11485 ) I have not been able to squat w/o getting nauseaus. It's kind of interesting, because when my initial stomach problems surfaced 2yrs ago, I was still able to squat. This intense nauseau only started when i started feeling run down a year ago.
WOuld usually look like
1set- no problem, feel fine
2set- starting to feel nauseaus, but can shrug it off after the 2nd set w/ some deep breathing
3+set- very very nauseaus, have to fight from throwing up
I've been lifting 10yrs, so I know all about leg work and nauseau, but this is something way different than the regular effects of heavy leg exertion. It happens whether i train with 5reps or 12reps, and it's always compound leg work- squat, deadlift, stiff-leg deadlift. Absolutely no problem with any other work (bench, row, pullup, etc...)
I always figured it was because I was moving heavy weights (anywhere from 300-600) and my body wasn't 100%, but today I tried doing some zercher squats for the first time.
Since it was the first time, I only used 150pds for 10reps. 1st set fine, 2nd set was nauseaus at the end. So it has nothing to do with weight :/
