Construction thread... Show off your work!

Thanks guys. The edge looks real clean and from the picture couldn't figure out what tools he used to shape it.

I like the exposed aggregate concrete look.

@kap73
On the top you kind of angled the corners, I quoted the picture you can see the best what I am referring to.

Did you just use the wooden float to make this angle?
They got a metal trowl that has that angle on it for edges I believe
Yup, you nailed it. Chamfers make for clean strong edges. Any 90deg. Corners will chip, crumble or br weak. Use a chamfer.

the boys above explain it spot on

i used a champher (we call it fillet in australia) its alot better than using a champher trowel, i find them to aggressive and pull to many stones out, then u spend half your time scraping up slurry to fill the holes

sorry forgot to quote this in it to
Looks awesome man, that's some talent I would love to have.

So just out of curiosity, in this situation speaking...it seems like its a lot more work to make steps out of concrete versus wood or composite decking, something like that. Is it just because you're a concrete guy or will it last forever?

Well had to wait for material today so it got here around 7. I'm planning on getting here at 5 tomorrow, so 5-1 they don't like giving us overtime.
