Coroner says steroids caused cancer

I would be curious to know what he was taking, dosage(s), for how long, etc.. The article paints a picture of a guy who would do virtually anything to be big. Would also be curious about his family medical history.

True, but 10,000 a day inc burgers, red meats and other fats can cause liver disease and other problems.

That amount of food and coupled with that amount of energy drinks can cause steotohepatitis for sure, and can lead to liver cancer.

Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis carries roughly a ~5% risk for hepato-cellular carcinoma from my readings.

In the end it is still bad genetics . Great genes it wont happen . Some people will never get cancer no matter what they eat , drink , smoke or ingest . Their genetics just wont allow it ...true

Not all "dirty calories" are carcinogenic but fast food has been shown to contain carcinogenic chemicals. How much risk they actually pose I'm not sure but they are in there. Same as ciggerettes though really... Some get away with it some do not. Would be nice to have superman genetics...

Most of what you're referring to has nothing to do with fast food. Acrylamide for example is found often in starchy foods that get cooked at high temps in boiling or frying. Whether you make it at home from the potatoes you grew on your farm or buy it at McDonald's is not what caused the acrylamide

Good point. But fast food is also going to have a "concentration" of HCA's, Nitrates, PAH's, food dyes etc that the French fries I make at home are unlikely to have.

Temperature is the most significant factor in the formation of HCAs. Frying and broiling produce the largest amount of HCAs since meats are cooked at very high temperature. Yet, it is fortunate that a study from NCI has evaluated the quantity of HCAs in fast food restaurants since after evaluating the meat products from various fast food restaurant chains, the study pointed out that there are low levels of HCAs found in fast food meat products because of the factors such as cooking temperature and time

“Heterocyclic Amines in Cooked Meats,” 2002

Nitrates are harmless. It's nitrites you would be worrying about and again, temps during cooking is what's important.

PAH: if you want to avoid them don't grill your food. This means no grilled burgers, steaks, hot dogs, fish etc. Personally I'll take the cancer before dropping these foods but I'm a Fatass lol

The sad part is the way the media portraits this to the public. Putting the complete blame on steroids every single time. What makes it worse is the public believes whatever the media says which shows how uneducated some of them are. If the public actually did more research on steroids they would understand multivitamins are just as bad if abused.

Nothing disgusts me more then hearing people talk down about steroids as they constantly eat themselves into diabetes and obesity. I think those are the problems they should constantly be putting out there to the public.

That is not the worst part. The media's demonization of steroids is commonplace and it has been for some time. There is nothing surprising here.

What is more disturbing is that a medical professional has asserted that "there is a direct, causal link" between AAS and cancer in Wharmby's case.

If that was actually the case, wouldn't we be hearing more stories about this connection due to the extreme amounts of people that are on AAS and even prescribed TRT.

Asinine.

Eats 10k dirty ass calories a day. Turns down legitimate medicine for 200 "natural remedy" pills a day. Yeah, definitely the juice that killed him.

Not everything we do is healthy, and we know the risks. But there's no saving the guys who can't do anything right. Sounds like a history of piss poor choices to me. Life, it's a killer. We should ban it for our own good.
