Costochondral separation

Six weeks or so into getting back in the gym and my little pains are already starting. Was doing some leg presses last night and my left rib cage popped a bit. When I was lowering the weight I felt a pop sensation and a slight pain. I finished the rep, spent a minute or two figuring out what just happened and made the choice to continue the workout. I did hack squats, a few different leg curl variations and some iso quad work. No problems, kinda felt discomfort but nothing was glaring at me.

As the night went on it would create a quick stabbing pain if I compressed the ribs too much. The actual point of pain is where the rib bones end and the central cartilage structure that attaches to the sternum begins. It's lower, past the bottom of the sternum. All I can think is there was separation where the cartilage connects to a bone.

I've broken ribs before. Bone on bone grinding every time you move, breath, walk, talk, chew, fart. Painful and not fun. This isn't that by a long shot, but is still a bitch.

I woke up this morning with elevated pain but nothing like I was expecting, so that's a win. It's a minor injury imo.

Has anyone had this? Time table for the injury to heal? I read online most cases take six months but I have to believe that's for something a bit more severe. That's a long recovery. I can't go six months without being able to suck my own dick, you guys know how it goes. The struggle is real.

Thanks for the feedback folks

Ive got this similar pain Icky , it only hurts when I push in with my finger the inside bottom of my sternum . I dont know if I got it from bench presses or from deadlifting and pushing my chest out at the top . Ive had it for 6 months or longer....

Pressing workout on Sunday was ok, limited the weight. I felt ok overall but it's no walk in the park. The separation moved pretty good on one set of incline bench but it was fine for my top set. That was it aside from discomfort and breathing.

Legs again today....

The ribs are feeling much better, breathing is getting deeper as well. I just have to stop leaning on cubicle half walls and shit like that, duh.

On another note, I kicked the ever loving shit out of my calves. I'm walking on my toe this morning because they're so tight. All I can think of is RR and his calf growth routine lol

Fwiw, there is one tiny spot that I can still feel but I'm trying to find the spot. It's nothing that I'd ever notice unless I was looking. About a month for "rehab" on this one
