Don't worry, I WILL keep giving the HST a try, but I'd also like to develop a more traditional split to mix things up...see what you think of this volume? Thanks a lot for all the help.

Day 1: Chest/Tris 6 sets/4 sets
Day 2: Legs 8 sets
Day 3: Shoulders 7 sets
Day 4: Back/Bis 6 sets/4 sets
Day 5: either off or repeat with chest again

reps are at 6-8, only going to failure every two weeks or so.

Not much volume.I mean your doing more sets for delts than you are for your back and chest. With that split Id def. double up on the sets.but thats my opinion.

how about this?

Day 1: Chest/Tris 8 sets/5 sets
Day 2: Legs 8 sets
Day 3: Shoulders 7 sets
Day 4: Back/Bis 8 sets/5 sets
Day 5: either off or repeat with chest again

Thats more like it.I may try something similar when I begin a new
routine in three weeks.

thanks bro...any more vet feedback? cause in the past I remember hearing I had too MUCH volume in some of my splits...thanks

I know alot of people assume they should do less in fear of overtraining...then the same people say, "everyones body is different." That being said...I tried low volume...around 8-10 sets for things like back, and around 3-4 sets for arms, etc. I wasn't growing like I wanted, so I decided to go for volume training...turns out, my body was made for that shit...I started growing again...have been for 2 years now. If you feel you don't have enough volume, then just up it 3 sets for about 4 weeks...if you are still growing, try to up it 3 more, and so on, until you feel you've reached your sticking point...then back it off a few sets and that should be your volume range, it worked for me anyway.

For my volume routine, I do 24+ sets per day, just depends on what bodypart Im doin. I train 5 days a week though. My split looks like this:

Mon >>> Delts(16), Traps(8)
Tues >>> Triceps(12), Biceps(12)
Wed >>> Hams(12), Quads(16)
Thurs >>> Back(24)
Fri >>> Chest(16), Calves(9), Forearms(8)

The thing that me and my training partner do though is go from station to station without rest until weve done a full round then we take a break for about 2-3 minutes. At first I was dyin bc I was out of shape but now Ive gotten to love this way of training. Believe me, you learn wether or not your in shape after goin from barbell curls, to skulls, then preachers, then pushdowns, then iso cable curls, then kickbacks. After you do that then you can rest lol. We always do 4 sets per exercise of about 6-10 reps.

have a good one guys..
