Dbol and Var: killing time and extras

So I dunno why but the pic in the long mirror made me look tall and skinny which I def am not (it'd be nice though). Most my weight goes right to my ass and thighs which is where I want it anyway. I got jeans anywhere from 30"-36" in my closet right now so I guess we'll see how big my ghetto booty gets.

Today's mornin update:

My weight has stayed pretty steady at 182 which I'm pretty happy with. I didn't really change my diet significantly and weight gain wasn't my desired effect so I'm happy with this.

I was able to sneak in a lil training this am before work which was nice. I was working muscle clean singles and it went quite well (I'm still not quite comfortable with working as technical a lift as full clean and jerks yet with PEDs in the pic but I'll get there). Usually my intensity peaks and then rapidly dies off when working through my singles but I was able to maintain focus and intensity really well this mornin an the recovery bw sets was great. I was also able to work with about 5 more lbs than usual which was nice. I think working this will carry over nicely past pct as the increased recovery has allowed me to hone my technique with singles beyond what I am normally capable of.

The dbol was too persuading this morning and I got a little off track by doin some shrugs as well... Couldn't resist. But I don't think it will do any harm.

Any way I'll be back to post after my pm workout. I'll be hittin my campus board and working some pulling movements this afternoon. I'm stoked to see how my weighted pull-ups go...

Evening update:

Still feelin great. Powered through pulling work this evenin: mostly weighted pull-ups, some dynamic pull-ups, then a bunch of other pull-up variations that are irrelevant to my cycle progress. Bottom line is the recovery between sets is markedly improved.

I've decided to pretty much forgo any of my finger-strength specific training (ie - campus and finger board) because I simply don't want to push my luck concerning tendons. 2 weeks off from it really won't put me back too far and its better than a potential injury.

Also, like I said earlier, I'm amazed at how little caffeine I feel like I need to make it through the day. No wonder ppl love dbol.

Check back with y'all in the AM after back squats!

Hell yeah boys just blasted through some squats. Officially up 10lbs on my squat which was pretty much the biggest thing I wanted out of this... Now we just gotta see if I can keep it.

Currently blowin through my old weights for muscle clean. Haha, yeah, I take long breaks.

Have to say by far my favorite part has got to be the huge increase in work capacity and recovery bw sets. Comin back to each single angrier than hell!

Ok guys, it's officially the last ON day of my cycle so here's the update for the day:

Weight this morning = 186.8

So I'm up about 15 lbs or so, some Super Bowl munchies last night may have helped with that hehe.

My dosages for the last day are as follows: AM 25mg dbol, 40mg var, 1.0mg adex; 4 hrs later 25mg dbol; before bed 40mg nolva. Then I will continue 20mg nolva/day for the 5-7 days following depending on how I feel. Also tomorrow I will start supplementing creating again as well as run 8 x 12.5mg ephedra every 2hrs throughout the day. After a week I will drop ephedra down to 6 x 12.5mg doses.

As far as training goes:

I never train on the last day of cycle due to some non-supported theory of mine that it helps segue into a quicker recovery. Since this isn't a very scientific approach I'm not gonna try to justify it here, all I know is it works for me. Also this next week will be a de-load week entirely. Following my de-load week I will transfer into a power-based block of training and may start to work on my conditioning level as well.

One reason why I like short cycles in general as well as playing around with orals that have short half-lives in particular is how precise it allows you to be in your planning. For example, I am going from full-blown on-cycle this morning directly into effective post-cycle recovery this evening thus minimizing the dreaded gray area between on and off.

I'll keep you guys posted on my recovery. I certainly expect to loose a fair bit of body weight but I'm hopin to move right back into my heavy lifting after my deload week. Granted training style is gonna change as well but I'll be able to know whether or not much strength has left me and will let y'all know how that goes.

I've decided not to run another cycle in 4 weeks unless I can grab some hcg. Hopefully I can get some prop into the mix as well as some other goodies to give you guys an exciting short-cycle read.

Thanks to all for your attention and criticism and feel free to ask questions if you have any.

Best regards,
-TZ

looks like some solid gains man. Thats the easy part tho, check back in about 2 weeks let us know how much weight/strength you've kept. If you can hang on to at least 50% Id say it was a good cycle

Thanks maven, will do! You're def right, not only was this the easy part but it was also the fun part. It's kinda funny to think how much more important diet and training are post cycle.

And after referencing my personal notebook I keep all my records in, I was actually 175 prior to starting the cycle. Don't know why I got confused.

I haven't determined what weight I wanna be during season yet but I'd say if I can ultimately settle into a nice lean 180 then performance oughta be pretty good. I'll try to keep a more regular update on post cycle recovery especially concerning my strength.

I've currently been toying with the idea of runnin nolva for 14 days instead of 7. You guys have any opinions concerning this?

Day 1 of PCT:

I woke up to 189 on the scale.

Workout this morning, including warm-up and cool-down, took about 30 min. All I did was work up in singles on back squat to about 80% 1RM. Felt great but didn't wanna push it.

Just to keep track of how much I keep/lose between now and start of next cycle, this is my summary of progress at the end of cycle:

My weight = +14lbs

Olympic Back Squat = +20lbs

Standing BB Press = +20lbs

Very basic but those will be the easiest to track. Just to be fair as to what I retain post cycle I still am not even close to my PR's as of about 3 years ago. Those were PR's resulting from years of natural training and ONE cycle. After football ended for me all my weights went down a bit for a year or so, and then I had my year of starvation [:o)] (not exaggerating too much here), then a year training natty, then two short cycles, and then this cycle now. Sorry for the road trip but I think its important when considering my progress now.

Day 2 post cycle:

Weight = 187

Today's training consisted of: 3 sets of 5 @ 60% 1RM on bench, 3 sets of 5 pull-ups, some rotator cuff prehab. About 3 min rest bw all sets as well, and lots of stretching. I should also note that no chains will be used during this deload week.

Day 3 post cycle:

Weight = 185

Today's training: I wanted to go out for a light jog and some plyo's but it was freaking -2 so I just grabbed my purse and hit the weights instead haha. I did some simple KB swinging and then just loaded 135 on the bar and worked on my clean form.

Oh my lanta does the weight go bye bye fast! Haha, but seriously everybody here was right, if you're a BB looking for a maintainable bulk I do not recommend this approach. I do however feel very strong still and it's very difficult for me to hold back training during this de-load week. I know it's for the best though and we'll see if I am able to maintain much of my strength gains by the end of next week.

Day 4 post cycle:

Weight = 183

No training today. I would have to say that all bloat from dbol seems to be gone so I'm really hopin to hold steady around 180ish.

One of my friends who used the same source as me just relayed that he has doubts about the nolva he got so that makes me feel great (sarcasm). But why would someone skimp on nolva?...

Extra day 4 post cycle note:

I was a little concerned about how arousal and performance in the bedroom might be this soon in PCT, but I must say all went well. I know it doesn't mean everything is hunkey-dorey but its def a relief hehe

Day 5 post cycle:

Weight = 183

Woohoo it looks like the weight loss is starting to slow a bit. Training today was some light front squats and cleaning from various positions (also light). Rested a little bit less between today's sets and feelin pretty good.

Fay 6 post cycle:

Weight = 183

Some light dynamic benching today. Everything feels good at the moment. I've only got 2 more days of this light bull-crap then I'll be hittin the ground runnin again. We'll see where strength is but from the way I'm feelin right meow I think it'll be pretty good.

On a side note: twice now after a short cycle I've experienced what seems like a rebound effect, wherein after the first couple of days of PCT my energy levels and sense of "man-power" goes through the roof. I don't no if there's any science to back up the possibility of a testosterone spike or anything, all I know is that the other day I felt like I was gonna explode out of my cubicle and start ripping down walls [:o)]. It was pretty intense cus I'm usually really even-keel. Just something I thought was note-worthy.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts weekend, I'll check in to the Tbol studies. Gotta love those Germans! It'd be sweet in the future to take that response curve and incorporate it into post cycle training.

As for today...

Day 7 post cycle:

Weight = 183

No training today, back to heavy training tomorrow. The most I've ever supported natty is 195 (when I was much younger though) so I think I'll hopefully stay around 180 without much concern from here on. I don't wann be much heavier but it would be nice to be as strong at 180 as I was at those heavier weights in the past.

Day 13 post cycle:

Just wanted let y'all know that although I'm only weighing in at 180 this moment I've certainly been able to keep the strength gains. Today I even front squatted 20 pounds more than I did on cycle. At the very least this cycle was a good plateau buster.
