Deadlift bar or bells?

Then it sounds to me like you need to throw the straps in the closet and train your grip to be strong enough. Unless you are having working sets of 650+ I really think straps shouldn't be used and even then they should be used sparingly.
I dont use them much like i said even on my heavy heavy days i don't but when i go for my high rep days 16 rep sets i lift 400 lb and by my last rep im haning on by my nails haha but if you think it will help ill give it a shot! i hate using the damn things any way! thanks again!

I'm struggling to come up with a single reason for doing 16reps of deadlifts in a single set. If you can pull 4 bills for that many reps you're obviously pretty strong. Up the weight slightly and do less reps or do something to make them harder such as deficit deads or paused deads.

Saved me some typing time thanks bud

400lb for 16 reps? I woulent mind seeing a video of that.

ill have to try and set up my phone some how. and reasoning for 16 reps is to switch things up im using a nonlinear periodization where you switch up days and its helped me alot.

What exactly do you think a CNS frying 16 reps is helping with unless you take a week off after? Even top level guys don't do sets/reps like that, hell Brett Gibbs only pulls a total of 12 working reps a week right now for deadlifts

Was just wondering what you guys use your norm is you see every one using the bar at the gym etc but yet I see jay cutler using the bells and being totally honest I get a much better burn on my lower back using the dumbells is there any bad affects of using bells vs bars?
Both, especially for straight legs! For PL'ers, I think it's largely worthless as they train to compete with the bar... But, if you're like me and are looking to build a physique, I WHOLEHEARTEDLY suggest attacking from multiple angles. To be fair, for standard DLs I tend to think the bar is "better", but for straight legs I actually prefer dumbbells. Hope this rant helps.

See this is what I was on about There's so many bloody power lifters about in my gym etc and I'm like so what you can lift that... you're body looks so out of whack its crazy people train upper body or just constant legs and arse to help them power lift, what the hell has happened to all the true bodybuilders who work every muscle group just for the look not giving a shit about how much they lift haha. :)

Maybe they say the light bc training each muscle group separately is an inferior way to train even if BBing is one's goal.
