Deadlift max

That's how I was at first, too. You were close with 645 the other day, a few more seconds of fighting it you'd have had it. I'll be happy with 650-675 this year if I can ever get over this injury. I'm gonna try to pull again the first of next month. It's been over six months I've been dealing with this.

i did not want to grind it out though. not the time or place for that. if i cant pull it at 9RPE im not doing it till close to the meet. youll get over the injury, your will is there, you have the smarts. maybe just ease into deadlifting for the first month. maybe just do POB 15 doubles at 6RPE each week to get volume in and ease yourself into it, weight wise.

I do 6-8 sets and usually 10-12 rep range. I lift 6 days a week.

this may be too much volume to go along with deads. i would cut the sets in half, but keep the weight fairly high. in my opinion you should have at least 2 days between each deadlift and squat session if strength is the goal

Honestly if you've just started deadlifting I wouldn't bother with any variations yet. Work on mastering just the regular deadlift for now. I'd just do more regular deadlifting with the lighter weight. If you're dead set on adding a variation do deficits or block pulls because they're so close to standard pulls.
Thanks brother! I seem to be getting the technique down a little better, but my numbers suck.

As already stated, getting good quality reps in set after set will make the biggest difference. My personal preference is usually 3-8 rep range stop and go. Any more than 8 reps and it seems more like cardio. Any less than 3 reps and form seems to get a little sloppy at times.
