Deadlift pain

I was doing a crossfit routine yesterday and had the following experience. The workout called for repeated sets of deadlifts on a minute. First minute one lift, second minutes two lifts, etc. until you could not get the required number of reps in within the minute. All lifts were done with the equivalent of body weight on the bar. During the seventh set I got this pain in my abdomen just below the ribcage and stopped. I've had "side stitches" from running. This was higher. I was breathing heavier and heavier from set 5 on. Any idea of what was going on? It's still somewhat sore today. Thanks.

Sounds like a tough routine
How long have you been using this system for?
I would say if it is not long or your first time, then you've strained something due to it not being used to such an intense routine.;)

you are right. I've been doing the crossfit routines for 6+ months now. The lifts are getting easier. And the pain is gone. Thanks for the reply.

You simply straigned a muscle/tendon. There are many tiny ones in that area. Dead lift put incredible strain on the entire midsection both front and rear. Wait till you pull one attached to the rib cage. Front or back it makes for great fun just breathing.
