Deca as an added HRT?

This is my first post to the boards:
I am 38 years old and I am currently on 200 mg/ week of Test Cyp. as HRT (under a physician). I am having a flare-up once again with my lower back. I have two bulging disks from a previous injury (years ago) and in a great deal of pain.
First of all, will adding Deca help with the inflamation and pain, and
two, will the Deca negatively affect my current HRT program?
What if I reduced my Test to 100 mg/week and added 200 mg/week of Deca? Can this program be using continously (long term) with no serious problems?
Thanks,
Kirk

I know what the official answer is. Deca is not a part of HRT. Why? Because it's not produced by the body.

I can tell you that I have heard of some clinics offering it as part of their programs though. As for helping your ailment....hard to say. Deca is reported as having a building effect on the connective tissues in the joints. Will that help your problem? Don't know for sure. You may want to ask in the AAS forum as I'm sure someone there has tried it.

Keep coming here for your HRT related stuff though! Some good folks here.

Welcome!

Not an expert on TRT but Deca definitely impacts my libido and performance negatively even in small amounts. It also causes rapid water gain which leads to big strength increases for me but this can tempt you into lifting too heavy for your back problem.

Studies have shown that the seriousness of the "bulging discs" has nothing to do with the pain experienced nor the need for surgical repair. Having said that I would try to alleviate inflammation and pain using hyaluronic acid supplementaion, perhaps with a product with chondroitin and glucosamine. Fish Oils also relieve some inflammation .

There are just too many problems with deca usage such as "deca dick" and gyno to be using it as a therapeutic agent as part of TRT.

IMPO, the only legitimate use for Deca these days is in the treatment of true wasting disease.

BTW, I am now working to apply my TRT skills to this cause, and saw my first HIV+ patient for this a couple of days ago. I guess that means I'll soon be writing my first script for Deca.

Other than that, I just have never looked at a set of labs and stated "This patient is suffering from a Deca deficiency!"

Sorry- do not mean to insult anyone, however that term "deca deficiency", just made me start laughing my but off... it's reminds me of those old anti-smoking adds; where you would see a dog or cat smoking a cigarette, it's just not natural.

LOL heheheheeheh.
