Deca for joint pain?....

Hello all. I have a query if I may.. I am on TRT using 100mg of cypy week split twice week. I have been plagued with some joint pain in y shoulders. First its been on my right shoulder fro quite some time now, and recently on my left. I hurt it doing dumbbell presses. Its become increasingly worse in the past few weeks. I was wondering if I add some deca to try to relieve some of the discomfort, But don't know what to start at. I was thinking perhaps 50mgs a week to start and see if that helps. Right now I have cut back on my lifts because of it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I should mention, that I am 66 years old, and have been lifting for a better part of 45 years. Not a stranger to aches and pains and would like to continue for another 20 at least.. Thanks all...

There’s a thread below yours that might have some helpful info
I would not take deca at 66 personally

I think natural supplements is ur way to go

Try 50-100mg and see how it goes.

What exercises are you doing in the gym? A full list would be appreciated.

What brought this on, was doing cable flys on a seated bench. When I went to reach for the handle, left side, I pulled up and felt a a pop in my shoulder. Now doing any over head movements hurts like hell. I'll have to nurse this perhaps for a few months I imagine...I have some deca on hand, and will start on 50 mg a week for now and see how I feel. I hate being out of the gym...

Okay, yeah you can't be doing those types of exercises. Keep in mind, you are on TRT so your strength is a lot higher than it is "supposed" to be.

You really need to adjust the exercises that you are doing. No barbells, no fixed positions etc. You will get more injuries if you continue this way. I am asking you to list ALL of the exercises that you do in the gym so I can go through and tell you which ones you shouldn't do because you will hurt yourself. This is a common problem and it is fixed easily. You think it probably was random, it wasn't you are doing something wrong. List the exercises you do please, include if they are cable, dumbbell or barbell.

First, see a physical therapist and get the injuries treated. Don't count on deca or any med to resolve this. Sounds like you overextended the joints.

Second: Stop doing presses. Maybe you can try raises. You need to assess your range of motion without pain.

Third: Consider range of motion limits. This applies to any age. Whatever anyone thinks of the guy Scooby (on YouTube), he limits range of motion (such as doing dumbbell presses on the floor instead of a bench) as well as never pushing beyond 70% of 1 rep max. Accordingly he claims to have never had a lifting injury in over 40 years. He is ~60 years old and is muscular. So consider such limits yourself. Injuries not only set one back, they can be permanent. Unless one is in a competition, they can more safely lift with such limits in mind and still get strong.

Thank you all for your reply's and help. I have the therapeutic part down pretty. I learned a few things during all my years of lifting. This time it was just a case of too much weight and bad form. I got it.. But just need ed some extra input as far as the deca question...I figure at my age, and the therapy for the shoulder that 50mgs of the deca once per week for about 8 to ten weeks might ease some of the discomfort.

If you got it you wouldn't have injured yourself...

It's not your age...

Dr. Robert Carlson has a video on Youtube titled 'The Amazing Benefits of Nandrolone' which explains how he has very successfully used low dose Deca to treat his patients.

At some point in time your bound to get an injury or two, if you hit as hard as I do....
No, to be honest you are an idiot. You don't know what you are doing and you come to a forum where there are guys who know a lot more than you. But you don't even think you are wrong. Let me tell you. You messed up, you are doing exercises that you shouldn't be doing at your age and strength and I asked you two times to list the exercises you do so that I can tell you which ones you shouldn't do so you won't injure yourself again.

I know exactly how you are thinking and it is stupid. You think that you know more about your body than I do. That you have been doing this for so long that you couldn't possibly be doing anything "wrong." There are people whom know a lot more than you do and your injury wasn't an accident. There is information out there for you to learn. Humble yourself, maybe an old dog can still learn a new trick?

I have been thinking about you since yesterday and it has been pissing me off.

Why did you come to the forum? So you can get confirmation to do deca? You don't want help.

Well that's the thing, you think you are asking a simple question but your problem lies in your lack of understanding of training and HRT. You have no clue that you can't work out like you used to. Both me and Old advised you on this.

The name calling? Very mature.

Have fun in the gym busting your joints and tendons :)
