My first cycle was Deca only. I was 21 and my uncle who competed gave it to me with little to no instruction. Fortunately I didn’t run into any issues even without doing a pct. I assume my age had something to with my recovery. I doubt I’d have the same luck in my 40s.
Everyone is different though. Just because I didn’t have any problems doesn’t mean you won’t. My advice would be to at least run a trt dose of test.

Most of my cycles are with low test because I aromatize a lot. You can do 100mg test and 400mg Deca.
NPP might serve you better than Deca so you won’t be on as long and it should be easier to recover.

Being that I'm on TRT for life, and my wife and I are done having kids, I don't really need to recover quickly for any reason.

Then definitely Deca lol. I’m in the same situation and prefer longer cycles. Stick with your trt dose and blast Deca

You guys think I'll need the Arimidex I've been taking if I drop test out completely, or run a super-low dose of it. I currently take .5mg Mon and Thursay, and it is prescription.
Deca doesn't aromatise so would be overkill if I did take arimidex, yes?

I am 43, doing this since 21. Only cycle that ever messed me up was a deca only cycle. I have zero depression and I went through the worst depression ever, thoughts of offing myself. Worst few months of my life and took 2 years to recover from it mentally, even adding in testosterone. I would never recommend this to anyone.
As to the above poster, I think better hair loss cycle would be test plus finasteride, or 200 test and 400 deca which I’ve done. Just don’t expect the same mass gains as 4-500 mg test

The problem is estrogen. You gotta have estrogen or you're gonna feel flat.
High E2 means power in the gym.
No one should worry about their hair. You need to worry about your brain, heart, kidney and bones.
DHT even if it ramps up hair loss is the best antidepressant a man can have. DHN seems to not be good for the brain long term.

You’re on trt so why wouldn’t you stay on it while blasting another compound? That doesn’t make sense. You don’t have to go higher on the test but you definitely want some in your system along with estrogen as mentioned above

Apparently, its the test that causes the deca problems, but I can easily use my last vial from my last cyp brew and just do 1 cc a week total to have it in me.
If you blast enough Deca, its conversation is 20% to estrogen, so above 600 you'll be fine with E2, its the lower dosage that apparently cause the problems with deca, and when someone adds larger amounts of test with it.

It’s the estrogen conversion from the test not the test itself. As long as you keep estrogen in check you’ll be fine.

Right, but the deca only advocates say that if you do high enough deca, it will make enough estrogen for you to keep you normal.

Perhaps. As I’ve mentioned that was my first cycle and I came out ok. The only way you’ll know is if you try it.
