Hey does anybody out there use the decline press with any frequency? I have been reading good things, and some are stating that it is one of the most overlooked pressing and chest movements. Thoughts?

That is how I do declines at my gym as the decline bench is at a not so good angle.I used to, but my gyms decline bench now currently is terrible. The spot where you hook your legs can randomly let go. I like it alot in the Smith machine with a wide grip
I do that all the time when the regular benches are filled 5 deep when it's crowded.I got a solid one at my gym. Lots of good powerlifting benches, racks and platforms. May try the Smith though... might be a pain in the ass dragging that bench over though whem I'm tired and lazy. Lol

Agreed with OGH. Dips with the proper forward lean, and a heavy ass dB hanging from your waist, is a way better movement for lower pecs.
Plus you don't have that barbell wanting to fly backwards over your head thing happening like when you unrack a decline lol
Yeah sure i could load that bitch up with way too much weight and that increases chances of an injury. The ROM is pitiful. I believe the decline bench is quite possibly the most useless station in the gym. Right next to the neck weights. Thats my opinionHey does anybody out there use the decline press with any frequency? If u can get a GREAT contraction out of it then fine. If you enjoy being hung damn near upside down with 500+lbs on your palms directly over your neck. Then fine. So be it. I think its stupid and useless
I agree it's dangerous and not worth doing.
That settles it !Declines Suck !
lol
I'm sure all have heard of the claim that it is easier on the shoulders....no?
LmaoIn my general experience it's mostly used by people with a shit bench press.
