Dexamethasone for PIP

QSC primo has been far worse for me than DHB ever was. This has been parroted by several others as well. Pinned my ventral glute Wednesday night. By Friday, I couldn’t even put weight on my leg. Couldn’t sleep on my stomach/side Friday night, even with up to 1000mg ibuprofen, which usually allows me to sleep. So, started dexamethasone Friday night. Saturday was worse. By bedtime, had 3rd dose of dexamethasone along with 800mg ibuprofen. Was able to sleep normally on my side/stomach. Woke up Sunday morning, almost completely resolved. Additionally, the constant, chronic shoulder pain is on hiatus. Never again will I endure days, almost a week of crippling PIP. Shit is dirt cheap at PCT24X7, you’re an asshole if you don’t have it on hand.

Why in the world would you take dexamethasone? This is a potent med...

Corticosteroids have their own nasty set of issues.

What if you had an infection and then Steroids increased your susceptibility to an infection or worsening infection?

Its honestly idiotic to think we should have this on hand.

Disagreed, but thank you. Not sure how I’d misinterpret nasty PIP for an infection. But, I did take some amoxicillin along with it, as a precaution. Yes, GERD flare up and nasty hiccups(which I had) are a nasty set of sides I’d like to avoid. I chose walking normally and getting back to the gym, so, 3 days of corticosteroid use in the context of all the other shit we do is somewhat meaningless. Seems kind of strawmanny.

To state that one would be an "asshole to not have it on hand" is ridiculous. there is a reason why healthcare providers are definitely more reluctant to prescribe it.

It is definitely not strawmanny.

alters BG control, natural cortisol production, inhibits wound healing, promotes muscle catablosim, increases chance of infection.

for some people who have underlying psych conditions it can increase chances of psychosis.

More power to you, but this is not something the average person should use.

I know what it does, I took 10mg over 3 days in order to sleep and operate normally. I got hiccups and some GERD. The “asshole” comment was hyperbolic, sorry I failed to qualify it. I did have to take a gabapentin to get rid of hiccups, so, I’m done at 10mg. I’ve had PIP carry on up to a week with shit, wasn’t prepared to do that again. It IS strawmanny in the context in which I used it. I would agree 100% if I was using it chronically, it is potent.

When I was thinking about stocking up on as many foreign pharma drugs as I could I quickly realized "why the hell would I need a stock up of antibiotics - if things got that bad I would just see a doctor".

From there I only focused on sourcing only performance enhancers and not drugs that are supposed to fix serious issues like corticosteroids and antibiotics... I have needed corticosteroids once in my life and even then it was just 5 pills I took over 5 days as prescribed by the doctor.

Honestly even buying tretinoin/finasteride/accutane/most BP meds is a waste of time when you can just get them from an online doctor and have insurance pay for it/get the same price as foreign pharma using coupons...

I am surprised by the amount of people that buy this stuff from PCT vendors, some people are using them for replacing overpriced medications for pets which I guess is OK... but for human use there's no point.

Not something you have to worry about now, I imagine. But, getting all those scripts and having insurance pay is awesome. However, it’s not as awesome when you apply for life insurance. Something to keep in mind. I had to explain every prescription for 10 years. Also, Indian pharma ends up being cheaper 7/10 times.
