Diet question

My question is this:

I eat very lean and clean all week long. Lots of chicken and rice with alternating days of avocado and broccoli for a veggie for most meals. My breakfast is 5 egg whites, 3oz of chicken breast with 1/2 cup of oatmeal each morning. Blueberries or bananas in the oatmeal. I eat other things as well but pretty much this.

I have a cheat meal/day on Thursdays or fridays (just dependa on when I crack).

That cheat meal is usually a big fat greasy cheesburger from five guys or like place with hot dog and a peanut butter shake...yum.....

The day AFTER I've eaten like a fat slob I ALWAYS look my best. This is when my abs show more, all muscles seem to pop a bit more, and it is always when I take progress photos. its like my body was WAITING for that fatty meal and it absolutely devours the meal, and grows. Is this normal? Is this a clue I should be paying attention to? Does this mean something about my diet? Should i be eating more fats ????
 
Its because the nutrients are getting to your muscle fibers and making the "pop" ie Glycogen stores. When I eat clean for days at a time high protein very low carbs I get flat. Then when I jam the carbs, good fats and protein my shit "pops" too!....To answer your question, Yes, its normal.

That’s why we have a cheat meal, we need to replenish glycogen every once in a while
 
No one can really give you a definitive on a carb loading. It's dependent on the individual and goals like anything. Some guys will crush carbs all day long one day, others will have a couple days of more median carb intake etc.
