different way of doing bent rows

Instead of doing rows the regular way where you just lower and raise the bar with the bar touching nothing and not stopping I was thinking of doing it another way. Start with the bar on the ground and do a rep, slowly lower the bar to the ground again so it touches the ground and stops, then repeat. I think it just feels better.
Thoughts?

No need to go as far as the floor. So many people try and exaggerate the length of the movement by standing on a bench or block but you are just risking your back. I only bend to about 45 degrees, any more than that and you are putting too much strain on your lower back. Keep your back slightly arched (keeps your back safe and helps contract the lats better). Keep your knees slightly bent (protects the back) and the movement should just be from arms straight, to pulling the bar so it touched your stomach around belly button. The movement should be clean and smooth, with no jerking yanking etc. You can pause for a second at the bottom and hold the weight at the top for a second for a good strong contraction as well.

Guys, bigdeadweight is 100% correct , this is the way you do it. I pull it up to my belt line @ a 45deg angle. You can't put any power into it when your just above parallel.

The only way I do rows is directly off the ground with my back as close to parallel as possible. For size and power they are far superior to the typical BBer style.

Your 100% WRONG! If the way bbers do it is wrong why do they have the biggest backs on earth. That was the dumbest statement I ever heard. Besides if you want to fuck up your back do bb rows parallel to the ground with heavy weights. Now cable rows are a different story.

RM, Ive come to realize that you have absolutely no clue when it comes to anything physiological related. I cant even begin to take someones "knowledge" of body mechanics seriously when that person has said that the biceps are used more during overhand pulldowns/pullups as compared to using an underhand grip.

You and griz must be room mates somewhere on a different planet, cuz the next thing your going to tell me is that if you want a wide back do dead lifts.
Besides without a doubt, the dumbest thing I ever read on the meso board came from super mod, Bob Smith that said, "my way of working back is far superior than pro BB'er style." [:o)] Give us all a break King Bob and stick with the mens forum.

What wrong with deadlifts RM?
I'll gonna do bent rows both ways... see whats good.

Nothing is wrong with dead lifts, its for thickness and overall strength, not width.

I stay very basic, I stick to 3 exercises per bodypart. Total sets for each bodypart are 9-12. Reps are 8-10. I do heavy squats, heavy benching, and heavy rowing.

deads are an invaluable part of any back workout. But they work the spinal erectors. The muscle either side of the spine. The main emphasis is to thicken these. Back width comes from the lats, traps etc. And while they do work these areas to a lesser extent they are not the best exercise for these areas.

RM, youre a moron. Just because some dipshit steps up on stage and prances around in his g-string doesnt mean he knows jack shit about how the human body actually works. Give someone with superior genetics any training program and a boatload of drugs and youll wind up bigger than 99% of the human population. Doesnt mean the training program is worth a shit.

But I guess since you read something in Mens Health that it must be true.

Never read it, I actually thought it was a homo mag,
and self proclaimed Dr. Bob doesn't know Jack either
after reading his nonsense.

I'll give everyone a tip,
never believe anyone who says they know more than a pro.
Thats like taking financial advice from a homeless person.
