DNP Taste Loss

I have been questioned and it does seem apparent that there isnt much info on DNP with AAS or users side effects.

I personally make my own caps and have done x2, 1 week cycles and a 3rd which remained a low dose. All cycles with great success and currently the low dose cycle running with AAS, so far just Test E and, D&Tbol and low dose winny just to get things rolling. Yes i am taking liver aids, I plan on adding Tren when the DNP is out of my system as im not sure how DNP and Tren will mix.

Anyway, there was a question about my taste loss that iv posted about before but this is to further inform people of the possible effect that i relate to DNP.

When i did start taking DNP, there was a change in my since of taste which many people will note, however, during the higher dosage use, i eventually lost my taste for most foods. Today iv lost my ability to taste the sour that i enjoyed from limes. It tastes allot like water, i even poured a good amount into my mouth from the bottle, it tastes like water but i can feel the acidity change the texture of my teeth like you normally would with a mouth full of lime juice.

I cant taste salt in foods, but i still do get the burning from salsa or pepper, just no real flavor, the past week untill today, i was able to taste lime juice. so in an attempt to recall events.

Tap water started to taste funny. maybe around day 4

Funny taste in mouth when waking in the morning, constant light almost sweet taste all day in mouth saliva.

Foods that contained sugars started to develop a vinegar taste noticed after a week

after a weekend break i started the next week of burn in cycle, where i over dosed on accadent ( threw up on empty stomach so i redosed afterwards, lead to overdose )

continued cycle made a link of bad taste with anything that had carbs or sugar.

during the second week i lost the ability to taste salt,

and now on week 4 which is no more then 250mg a day of crystal DNP i mark today as a loss in taste for sour.

Now i dont drink anymore as i used to drink everyday, ( dont worry i did have my liver checked before AAS ) but i just had a shot of 1800 reposado tequila... i can feel the burn down my throat no taste in actual tequila flavor but a slight honey type sweetness after taste.

Im stopping DNP tonight and will take note of when and how my taste comes back.

so im guessing you're lost of taste is due to Dysgeusia. Your taste should come back within a few weeks, thats what i'm interested in. Please post when first signs of taste come back.

The light sweetness in my mouth seems to be continuous all day. An extreamly light honey like taste.

drinking water amplifies the sweetness when its in my mouth. My urine is starting to become clear again so the DNP should be all out of my system soon.

I did some poking around, i have to go to bed soon so i dont have much time, but anyway, i did some quick searches and so far after a moment of brainstorming there seems to be a connection between having a sweet taste in the mouth and the body in the state of ketosis.

ketosis being very possible as i eat allot of protein and iv stopped eating anything with carbs as they taste bad.

I dont recall exaclty but DNP workes by disrupting the electron transport chain, some of the taste buds on the tongue work by Ion channels and G protein coupled receptors which use glycan, not sure if theres a link, but there may be a link between DNP not allowing the body to store glycogen and it effecting the G protein coupled receptors, and DNP causing a disruption in the ion channels in the tongue.

Now similar receptors exist in the nose and i still have my since of smell. As my tongue is continuously exposed to saliva poisoned with DNP then it may pass the mucous membrane and increase exposure to the cells.

I dont plan on doing so, but perhaps if i where to begin rubbing DNP on the inside of my nose, i would guess that i would loose my since of smell.

Slowly starting to get the essence of taste back, artificial tastes in creatine and jack3d noticed at back of tongue. still no real taste of food though. foods with carbs still taste bad, and now found out pinto beans taste completely horrible.

since the stop of low dose DNP iv noticed a decline in strength. Now doing research to find a link between low dose DNP increasing metabolic rate enough to clear out receptors for AAS while on cycle.

taste is starting to come back very little but now i can start to taste the strawberry in my shakes, the fruit punch nasty of creatine and various other artificial flavors.

bread still tastes like cardboard, beans still bad. im tasting the chemical nasties that im guessing are food additives.

Im starting to get it back but not really liking it, iv been mixing my supps with my protein shakes since i cant taste it but now my mixes are starting to taste like ass now that my taste is coming back. Thanx for the input.

i can't tell you the most Iv taken, just went by how I felt most times. doesn't seem everyone is effected by the taste loss though. then again it seems people are afraid to do high doses because they can't handle a bit of sweat.

the body just really intrigues me. i wonder what makes a person more prone to losing taste from dnp compared to someone else. obviously dosage has a role in it, but its more an immune system type thing i imagine.

Maybe something like lactic allergies, where the lactose intolerant can consume dairy in small doses every now and then, and not feel any real bad sides. But when they consume a lot more, more often the sides really kick in. i of course am not basing this off of anything other then my background knowledge...i may look into to this more if it continues to bother me haha

did you not read my theory at the start of this post? one of the post i made i did some research on how taste actually works and compared that to what DNP does to the system to at least get an idea of why some systems fail.

I believe I found the reason for DNP taste loss and I'm almost certain this time. When you take high amounts of DNP you can get shortness of breath this leads some to breath heavily through your mouth similar to the way after running,

Sleeping at nigh you may wake to a very dry mouth after an hour of heavy breathing, the dry leather like tongue becomes damaged and looses it's ability to taste.

It was so simple all this time, I just realized it this morning.

I'd like to take credit for this discovery as it's been a mystery to some DNP users, thank you.
Hate to break it to you, but it's highly unlikely that's the reason.

The clinical research on DNP has classified dysguesia (loss of taste) as a form of "neuritis," or nerve inflammation. Neuritis is a rare side effect of DNP. It manifests itself in different ways depending on the nerves that are affected. Loss of taste seems to be one of the more common, but "pins and needles" in the arms/legs have been reported, as well as numbness or even outright pain. In the case of dysguesia, it appears that the nerves transmitting taste signals to the brain are somehow affected. The good news is that all cases of neuritis appear to resolve upon discontinuing DNP, though the effects can persist for several weeks or months.

Hope that helps,
Conciliator
