Do the testes produce any other important hormone other then testosterone

Heres just a dumb curious question for you....

What if you happened to find a lifetime supply of lets say Testosterone enan and HCG and for the rest of your life you administered 500mg's Of Enan a week and whatever amount of HCG you've determined to keep the balls from shrinking.

Other then an irreversable shutdown of the HPTA would any serious conditions come from doing this.

Also if you were to get castrated in a freak accident would you only require HRT to stay yourself or are other hormones produces by the testes??

Actually, it's not a dumb question at all. However, it is Sat. morning so I only have time to give you a brief answer.

The two primary functions of the testicles are to produce testosterone and sperm. Within the testicles, the germ cells produce sperm and the leydig cells produce testosterone.

HCG artificially stimulates the testicles to produce testosterone and sperm. Normally, the pituitary gland which controls the other glands and releases luteinising hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) is the starting point of testosterone production. What HCG does is mimic LG & FSH. So your HPT axis is still actually suppressed.

So to your question of would anything else bad happen... not really. However, in my opinion, permanently shutting down your HPTA is a very bad thing. You may not think so now, but after another 10 or 20 years, you will undoubtedly regret what you have done.

that was a good question, one ive thought about many times. would taking hcg allow you to still be fertile while being completely shut down?

Good question - Dont think there would be any issues except fertility issues if you did that. All Male HRT patients that I know of are still fertile as long as they follow an HCG regimen that keeps there testes in working order so that sperm are still being created in a motile manner.
