Do your filters get clogged? What with?

Out of curiosity, if your .22um filters, or
larger if you prefilter, get clogged, do you know what they typically get clogged with? Is it undissolved raws, or a sediment in the raws, or something else?

Since most are using purified liquids I'm curious what the filters are catching, if it's apparent.

I can respect that answer. Just one thing, since I've never brewed, is there usually a completely undissolvible component of raws, regardless of the recipe, or just an amount that doesn't because of insufficient solvent, time, temp or whatever that would otherwise leave nothing of the raws left?

I have never torn the filters apart to see what is the issue. But when powders talk of being 95 or 98% pure the lets you know other things are in there. How well a powder is ground up or dissolved would depend on the manufacturer or brewer.

I assumed that was just degraded hormone, but you make compete sense, it could just as easily be some kind of other insoluble residue, thanks.

Idk but they can't catch a lot. A 33mm 0.2 micron lasts me 60ml no problem. I only change it because it's cheap insurance after that. I really am confident I could filter 100-120ml if I only had 1 single syringe filter.

I've never seen any type of foreign material or non dissolvable substance in raws/brew before.

If you think about it most raws are 98% (as janoshik states a margin of error of 2%) there's no 99% or 100% purity API tests out there (by janoshik, not some in house COA bullshit). So if 1-2% of 120ml
IS an impurity, It's not significant even in a 33mm filter.

There is stuff in the raws, I don't know what exactly to call it except for "debris".

But i used filters for glass ampoules and there sure is a lot of it

That's really interesting.

Jano once said something about the difference between pharma and ugl HGH was that ugl was, to paraphrase, likely made with a lot more crap in it that needed to be cleaned up through additional steps.

I wonder if that's the case here as well, Hurry up and get those raws done before the day shift comes into the chem factory, lol.

I noticed it when i made a nasal spray. Flecks that wouldn't dissolve. This was in a sealed bottle so no prior contamination.
