Does Anavar cause an increase in water retention?

I'm running 150mg Test E cruise and have been cutting for a couple weeks now. I've been consistently losing weight day by day and a few days back I introduced 40mg Anavar split into 20mg AM/PM. Since adding it in, my weight has crept upwards, and I wanted to know if that's to be expected.

As far as I was aware, Anavar was a dry compound and didn't really affect water weight. I am 99% sure the weight difference has nothing to do with my diet especially since the weight increase happened right after introducing the oral, but I wanted to check just in case.

Yes it causes water and glycogen retention in muscle cells but not subcutaneous water retention like Dbol does. I tried Anavar while cruising once too and my weight went up by ~2kg despite eating at maintenance. It can also increase E2 a bit (not much) by crushing SHGB which makes more free test available for aromatization

It’s likely increased glycogen synthesis which means more water intramuscularly, which is exactly where you want it, as muscle is mostly water anyway. Don’t forget, it’s an anabolic steroid. Key word anabolic. It was created to treat muscle wasting / cachexia so it’s doing its job. You’ll keep losing on the scale over time but this is to be expected.

you are experiencin nitrogen glykogen and other fluff weight, thats why it gives that hard veiny look, like 24/7 pump kind of.
