Does anyone else have a big stomach but not a lot of fat

My stomach sort of pops out, even though my body fat is pretty low and I can see my abs easily. I have never really done a lot of ab work if any, so I'm sure it's some sort of muscle imbalance (anterior pelvic tilt or whatever it's called). I think I might need to work my transverse abdominals, which is a bitch. What do you guys suggest as far as ab trainig that would help to get rid of the imbalance between my lower back and ab muscles. Do I need some sort of rehab program or do I just need to start doing some serious ab work? Have any of you ever tried working the TA by pulling in your stomach and holding it? Does this work if done regularly? It's starting to piss me off because in a shirt it looks like I have a little gut.

Some things to mention: I do tend to lean forward when I squat, and it isn't due to a weak lower back, my back is way stronger than my legs. Same with my hams, they are probably as strong if not stronger than my quads. I think this problem is due to weak abs. JS, if you could suggest something that would be great, since you tend to deal with weightlifters who squat and deadlift a lot.

Thats a syndrome which a lot of pros have these days.Do you use GH or insulin? That is sometimes the issue. Both Dave Palumbo and Jay Cutler say since they stopped squatting their waists shrank a lot.Im not saying you should stop doing that very good and important movement but thats what i have read.

I'm not using GH or slin desi, but that is sort of what it looks like. BS, that's what I was thinking. Maybe my abdominal wall is just weak and my insides push it out. Decline sit ups are the best but I hate them. I think I'll just do them anyways. Maybe hanging leg raises with a db between my feet, and then some standing crunches on the lat pulldown.

IMO, working your Transverse Abs the way you described will help you quite a bit. It's not that difficult, you can do them standing up. Start out doing 2-3 sets holding it for 1 min working your way up to 2 mins. But also do what BS told you to do.

I've never really understood how to do it though. Do you just draw your navel in or do you have to push all of the air out of your stomach first. It seems like it would be too hard to breathe for 1-2 minutes doing it that way. I'm going to try it though.

One common problem with using orals is your liver expands. That and drinking, anything that's tough on the liver will make it double in size. That's a lot of space, like 5lbs of fat would take up.

Other guys store more internal organ fat than others. If that's the case, obviously more dieting will do the trick.

Maybe I store more fat in my organs. I don't do orals and rarely drink. One of these days I'll get really lean and I'll see if it goes away.

And believe it or not, some guys just have big organs.

Ha ha ha...

Just realized what that sounded like.

Used to have the very same problem that you are talking about.

Diet was the cause with me. OFF cycle I used to eat 3 huge meals a day with snacks in between.

I now eat 6 small meals a day. Same amount of calories and protein just spaced out the entire day.

Give it about two months on this type of eating schedule and maybe you will see the same results.

Plus, lot's of crunches.

I wish my abdomain was thicker and stuck out more, mine looks like a little boys, real skinny and goes in.It pisses me off.
