Does Testosterone at higher dosages itself cause a bloated face from water retention or does it come from bad E2 management?

I‘m asking because I‘ve never used more than 350mg Test E per week (and instead I relied on other non aromatizing anabolics) but now I want to run Test only at a higher dosage (ofc with an AI) so does Test itself make your face look bloated and swollen? Or does it all come from high E2?
 
until this week i was on 750 test & 4iu gh.
i must say it was mostly diet related bloat.
my e2 was at 55-60 pg/ml and if i had lower carbs for few days my face looked normal.

if i had 600-700g carbs with plenty of water, i looked like ive gained 10kg's and my head was like baloon.
 
How high of a surplus was 600-700g carbs for you?

honestly i have no idea... there were days when i was bottomless pit for food and i wanted to have ALL the energy for gym and i was okay with some additional fat gain.

and then therr were days when i didnt need that much.

overall i dont rhink i needed more than 400-500g of carbs. but its winter and i wanted to be bloated and strong and have long and intense workouts.
 
It’s mostly diet related unless your E2 is really out of control. I’ve experimented with taking my test up from 400 to 700 on a long cut and had absolutely zero noticeable bloat from the 700. And this was with no AI but using some masteron. GH was at 5 iu. And daily cardio. The real off season moon face you see from competitors is largely due to massive amounts of carbs and insulin. But even then it’s highly individual. Roman Fritz eats over 1000 g carbs in the offseason running 3 Grams of gear and plenty of GH and insulin and I’ve never seen him look bloated

Check you diet and get bloodwork done. You can try and offset the water retention with a glp-1, or you can add dandelion root, and drink plenty of water.
 
Thanks for all the replies. So I think it mostly comes down to your diet and bodyfat percentage and not really the testosterone dosage?
Unless you are banging grams test is not actually that water retentive. You can still get dry and grainy on test on a cut. People really overstate it and fear monger because they don’t keep their health in check. Things that will REALLY bloat you up are ment, mk677. A lot of the water test makes you gain just gets held in the muscle, unless you get an Edema or something whereas other compounds spill over extremely hard.
 
It’s really hard to look like shit if you eat clean. Even if you bring the calories up. Clean food is harder to eat in massive quantities so it’s somewhat self limiting in that regard. I’ve never had any issues eating as much chicken / fish / lean red meat with rice as I could stomach. I mentioned Roman Fritz above. His food is always clean (aside from shitloads he does for contests). And it shows. Guy basically looks 2 weeks out year round while running high doses.
