Hans and Dr. O made a few serious mistakes during my treatment. The biggest one was pushing me to take more cortef when it was clear that my body was not handling it well. This caused alot of problems and my health became much worse. And as soon I my health became worse, they bailed on me and told me not to contact them anymore. This is the lowest thing a person can do in the medical field in my opinion. They gave me a medication, it caused my health to become much worse, and then they turned their back on me. They should have tried to help me get through it and put in extra effort to see that I was doing better. Instead, I was put in a postion where I had to figure it out all by myself. This has happened to many patients that Hans has worked with. Alot of them just don't post here every day.
I came on to this forum about 1.5 years ago asking for help, just like you guys are now. My health was very poor and I was very eager to turn things around and live a better life. I was desperate and vulnerable and Hans took advantage of this.
I don't feel like wrting that much about it, but I will say a few things because it might help someone else in the future. I was deciding to go with either Hans or Dr. Crisler when I was going to fly to see a doctor about 1.5 years ago. Hans said that all Dr. Crisler would do is want to put me on testosterone and thats basically all he was good for, so I decided that Hans would be a better choice because (supposedly) he knew so much more about adrenal problems, thyroid, etc. and these were areas I was interested in along with testosterone.
In summary, I mostly worked with Hans during my treatment. I rarely ever spoke to Dr. O and it seemed the Hans was making most the medical decisons in regard to my health. He basically was running the show. When I did talk to Dr. O, he didn't even know some of the dosages of medication/supplements I was taking that Hans told me to take. And then as treatment went on Hans was wrong with most of the things along the way. Like such and such test will show this, I am sure of it. And then the test would come back and the level would be ok.
But the bottom line is that Hans is not in a position to work with all these people to try and help them. Hans has his own medical problems that he can not even get straight. If you look at various posts of his in the past on this forum and others, he always seems like he is having a crisis with his own medical problems and is searching for some way to try and fix that. In my opinon, I would much rather have an level-headed doctor who can focus clearly and is not running in a million different directions. In regards to Dr. O, they man just starting learning about hormone treatment about 2-2.5 years ago. Maybe he did prescribe some TRT to patients in the past, but he has not focused on this speacility for along time by any means. He a nice man and I think he means well, I just don't think he has the knowledge to really help most of the people that are going to see him for this issue.
And then about Dr. Crisler. After time goes by, I end up learning that he is really one of the best doctors available to help men with hormone levels or probably just general male health. He does know alot about adrenal fatigue, thyroid, and many other things. And he does not just put people on testosterone. He tries to help restart the hpta and can do alot of other things to improve the quality of a patients life. He has alot of tricks up his sleeve and is always up to date on the cutting edge treatments to improve a persons hormone levels or other things, etc.
Before I went to see Han, I was looking for a doctor to help me do to a restart. Han said that we should address the adrenals and thyroid first and put the restart on hold. Well after my adrenal/thyroid treatment did not work, we never ended up doing a restart. It has been almost 2 years for me, but I finally found a doctor who knows about restarts and prescribed me clomid to help raise my T levels and hopefully keep them high.
Not to get off track, but there is serious lack of doctors that know about or are willing to help patients try and restart/raise their own natural test production. For me this was a major problem because I tried taking testosterone cream/shots and it negatively affected my heart and my body could not handle it. So I needed to find some other way to raise my T levles. And no doctors I went to really knew about restarting the hpta or raising some T levels through clomid/nolva/hcg, etc. And when I searched for doctors that knew about possibly restarting someone's hpta and or raising someones' natural T level, only 5-10 doctors in the whole country seem to do this that I can find. I am sure there are a few more, but they must not be well known in the specialty, so how the hell are we supposed to know. There is Dr. Crisler, Dr. M, Dr. Gordon, a doctor I am working with in Florida, a doctor from the University of Chicago, Thierty Hugoche (Belgium sp), a few in the Northeast that Chillin or Wiseguy knows about on Dr. Crislers forum, and that is all that I can think of. Not a huge selection and alot of people do not have the money to fly and see these doctors.
If knew that Dr. Crisler was familiar with this, I would have never went to see Hans. Looking back at it, I regret going to see them and wish I would have visited Dr. Crisler instead. For me this has been a huge mistake, because I recently developed some severe gastrointestinal problems in the last six months. I have been under alot of stress due to medical problems and work. About six months ago I woke up with swelling and pain in my middle and right side of stomach. Long story short, the doctors think it is some kind of nerve entrapment, nerve irration, nerve damage related. One doctor said it who did an endoscopy said it was gastroparesis. Since this has happened, I cannot poop or digest my food right anymore. My stomach is very swollen, distented, painful, and my body has basically went to shit. And this is on top of having a T level of 200, very weak adrenals, bad hypothyroid, obese/weight management problem, severe insulin resistance, excessive hunger, blood sugar problems, etc. Not what I needed at all. I honestly think that if I could have rebalanced my hormones levels earlier, this stomach nerve damage problem would have never happened. Now I have focus alot of attention on trying to fix the gastro issue through nerve pain injections or some kind of specialized surgery, which is not going to be easy. However, I am a little optimistic about my health going forward as I think the clomid medication will help me raise my T and that is probably what I should have been focusing on from the begginning. In my case, I am the perfect example of all the negative things that can happens to someones body after many years of low T. And I think by correcting my T level and other hormones, my health health should get much better.
Overall, I would consider seeing Dr. Crisler first and then seeing other doctors after that before going to see Hans. People are slowly starting to realize that he is not all that he claims to be and it will catch up with him sooner or later. You are starting to see more and more posts on various forums calling him a fraud or con-artist or something similar. Good luck in the future with your health.
