Dragon Pharma Test C (Chemical Smell)

Bear with me here: I recently got some Dragon Pharma Test C directly from the main source, no third-party website or middleman involved. I’ve always had great success with DP. My only complaint is the price, but the quality has always been spot on with lab results consistently coming back great. Recently, I started filtering my UGL vials using a 0.22 micron PTFE filter, and today, I filtered another vial.

For some reason, I like to give it a sniff after filtering. Usually, there’s no noticeable odor, but this time the vial had an interesting smell. The best way I can describe it is a mix of light cheese, alcohol or spirit, and a slightly off floral scent. It caught me off guard, so I grabbed another vial and filtered it for comparison. The second vial didn’t have the same smell. It actually smelled like my previous batches, with that familiar grapeseed oil scent.

Has anyone else noticed funky smells with their Test C before? This is a first for me, and I’m wondering if I should play it safe and toss the vial. What do you think?

I should note “Chemical Smell” is not good subject wording. More like “odd smell.”

DP uses Miglyol 812.

The smell you're describing, particularly the floral bit, reminds me of cypionate raws I smelled not long ago.

Perhaps the homebrew guys can chime in whether the scent of raws a) can vary significantly from batch to batch and b) carry over into the oil.

Cypionate and tren raws both smell so good and strong..enanthate and deca kinda smell the same.... by the time I get done with a few hours of brewing all I can smell is carrier oil and solvents..... myself
But to your point Cypionate raws I've had from 2 different vendors smelled the same. Tren the same....can't say I've ever just poked my nose into a finished oil though

I smelled my test c it’s from a different vendor but has like a pine or minty smell? What’s in it to give it that?

Deus smells weird as well, they use miglyol. Otherwise no problem, just that strange odor.

I didn't notice any smell with mine, I smoke so my sense of smell isn't the best. I'll ask the ole lady what she thinks next time.
