Drug test for work??? A couple ?'s

I am starting a new job in about 3 weeks, and will have to take a urine test. I was just wondering exactly what they test for. I am prescribed to clonazapam (generic Klonopin) for stress/anxiety, and was wondering if that would show up. I believe it is a Benzo. How should I explain to my future employer if I fail the test b/c of my medication? If I have medical records it shouldn't be a problem...right?

Also, how long does it take pills such as klonopin, valium and xanax (Benzos) to get out of your system. I have always been told 72 hours...but just wanted to check.

Thanks for the info...a little longer than I thought. But since I have a medical script for them...what do I do?

When you go to take the drug test you should have something that shows you have a script (like your medical record) and tell them before you take the test. I work in an urgent care facility and before we give drug screens we always ask if they are taking any prescription or OTC medications. If you have a script it should be no problem.
