Dumbbell spotter stands

I really like dumbbells because of the symmetry it creates but some lifts are really awkward to get into position on. Specifically some bench variations and overhead exercises. I consulted with chatgpt and it suggested some dumbbell spotter stands but they were either part of a bench system that required their bench or like 500 dollars lmao 500 dollars to hold a dumbbell off the ground jfc. It seems like the cheapest options require a barbell system or power rack and I don’t have either in my home gym. Any other recommendations or things that work well as a dumbbell spotter stands but isn’t necessarily for that purpose?

Getting heavy dumbbells into position can be a real pain, been there. DIY spotter setups can get kinda sketchy though, especially with big weight. For your own safety, I’d honestly recommend saving up for a solid rack or stand, worth it in the long run. In the meantime, I’d say practice kicking the dumbbells up with your legs. It’s awkward at first, but once you dial it in, it helps a ton

Those db hooks are pretty neat and most will support up to 120lb db's. Tried them and they are less effort to get into position and even are useful on the decline bench. Less risk of serious injury battling to get the heavy ones in position.
