eating before the gym

Going to change my workouts to the mornings,the gym opens at 5:00am and I have to be at work by 7:00am .Iwas hoping to sleep as long as possible get to the gym and wait to eat till I get back. Is not eating before I go the gym really going to slow my progress on gaining muscle ?
 
Some people like to do cardio first thing with an empty stomach, but you are probably going to the gym to lift. I must eat before I workout, it fuels my fire. I usually eat 3 meals before the gym...but I go after work. I used to workout before work, I would eat something fast, like an MRP and a banana, or weight gainer shake and banana. My personal favorite is oatmeal, banana, and small protein shake. But definetly get some calories in you it will help, some good ol' carbs. I would have to say it will slow your progress a little because you won't have the energy to lift big. Just my 2 cents. Peace.

Edawg is correct..you need to eat before you lift..not a huge meal but something like 2 pieces of whole wheat toast and jelly..something for energy...a protien shake if the milk does not upset your stomach in the gym is also ok.or grab a ebergy or protien bar and eat it on the way.I lift in the mornings 5;00 am till 6;15..I eat light before i go and big when I get home at 6;45..I am eating again about 8;45 or so and this goes on throghout the day.The great thing about lifting early is you will be hungry all day..great for bulking..dennis
