That all depends on the upcoming MCAT in August. If I do well (27+) I think I can get in; otherwise, I"ll have to wait till next summer to take it again, and that will set me back another year :( Some people take up to 6 months to prepare; I started studying 5 weeks ago and have about 5 weeks left. I've covered about half the material so far. I better do well, it cost me $200 just to register for this test!

The most important thing you can do is to just practice taking the MCAT. If you've taken all the necessary Bio and Chem and Physics, you should only need to do a quick review on the main ideas. Actually practicing the test is much more valuable than studying the material. You probably know, but it is a critical thinking test and trying to learn everything that might be on it will not help as much as practicing the types of problems you will face (and under a time limit). You should really try to prepare for the VR section too. They expect you to do well on the Science sections and since the VR section requires no outside information it is weighed heavily. An admissions person at UCLA told me that they look at the score on VR over the others because that is a true test of critical thinking skills and they have found that people who score well on that section fare better in med school. But seriously, practice is more valuable than studying the material.

I've heard the thing about cooking them, too, but I don't know that I buy it. You're the Dr., you tell me. ;) And, yes, I drank them raw. After fifty thousaund(literally) eggs consumed raw, I have come to the conclusion that samonella doesn't really exist.

salmonella does exsist. i used to eat raw eggs in my shakes in high school. about a month before two a days i got real sick. i puked stomach acid and bile up for a week and shit blood. i thought i was gonna die. my doc did a bunch of test, thinking it was salmonella or ecoli. it ended up being salmonella. the doctor said it was a freak thing but i'm still not eating raw eggs. be careful man.

Mercola tells how to spot a contaminated egg. I'm sure one can get by you but it won't hurt if wanting to eat them raw.
