Email from a Compounding Pharmacy...

I sent a few emails out to a few compounding pharmacys to check the prices on some products.. here is one I got back when I asked about cypionate.. anyone here of this?? Bio-identical??

you buy a manufactured product (like Upjohn's Depo-Testosterone) from Walgreen's you are buying a synthetic chemical which a great number of experts feel is un-healthy.

We buy the bulk raw powder from a natural source and compound it into a sterile, pyrogen free injectable which is bio-identical to your body's own natural testosterone.

This we feel is more healthy and beneficial to patients

Seems like nonsense. T cyp is T cyp. It is all synthesized from a compound called diosgenin that is isolated either from soy beans or mexican yams.

This is an absolute lie. They buy white, crystalline testosterone powder and mix it into a cream. The big pharmaceuticsal companies buy white, crystalline testosterone powder and mix it into gels. The bulk powder is exactly the same, from the same sources.

If they are speaking of test cyp, then the same holds true for purchase of their bulk product.

I do not believe the addition of a cypionate ester, for instance, makes a testosterone molecule any less "bio-identical". It just improves its pharmacokinetics.

Which compounder was it? I want to know.

BTW, a truly "bio-identical" injectable testosterone (raw testosterone suspension) would have to be injected many times each day to maintain any semblence of stable serum levels. Actually, that would be, for all practical purposes, impossible.
