But yes to more tests like......... all the Estrogens........

Says TRT is last resort.........

HGC insurance won't pay for it........

says i'm depressed........continue taking Wellbutrin (its only been 3 days) got to give it a chance to work

if all your hormones are messed up then it is the first resort........ post all your lab values...............

Forget about insurance, HCG (at proper dosages such as 250IU 2x/week) is very inexpensive. Many Docs mistakenly diagnose depression when the problem is low T. This happens with a lot of stuff (fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue). The real question is, not whether or not the patient is depressed (b/c low T can cause that) but whether depression is a symptom (of low T) or the problem. If T levels are low, the depression is probably a side effect from the low T.

The attention given to AAS causing clinical depression and suicidal/homicidal ideation/behaviors is going to regrettably have a negative influence on many doctor's willingness to prescribe TRT.

Not true. My insurance company pays for it. Lots of men's insurance companies pay for HCG. You see, insurance companies generally wont pay for fertility treatment. So, your doctor would have to send your insurance company a letter stating that he prescribed HCG for TRT and *NOT* for fertility.

The fact that your doctor doesn't know this indicates that he probably doesn't know much about TRT.

Reading between the lines, when a doctor says "your insurance company wont pay for HCG," what he's REALLY saying is "I don't know how to administer HCG and I don't want to learn" or "the AACE guidelines only call for HCG if fertility is desired and I don't want to take such a risk with medical malpractice being what it is today."

If you're interested in HCG or TRT, I suggest you find a doctor who's familiar with all the treament modalities or is at least open to working with you to learn.

If you are hypogonadal, no amount of antidepressants will cure you without treating the underlying low testosterone.

i agree because i been on and off anti-depressants for 5 years now
when im on the anti-depressants my psychiatrist says my illness has gotten worse and im becoming more depressed and paranoid,he then offers me to increase the dosage

when i got off my anti-depressants completely for 6 months, my psychiatrist says im more awake and happy and he says the increased anti-depressants dosage is helping me by alot.I laughed and told him i never used the anti-depressants he gave me, my psychiatrist then doubts i didn't take the
anti-depressants and assumes i used up the anti-depressants.

I been off my anti-depressants for over 2 years now
im planning to see my urologist because my right testicle has random aches and pains through out the day
It might be because of the silicone testicle implant i had put on my left side when i was 15
I talked to my family doctor because i suspected i had low T levels and she says im being paranoid and because i was born with an undescended testicle
doesn't mean i have low testosterone levels. She says im depressed because im missing one testicle and im taking it too seriously.she denies my demand for a Testosterone blood check. She says i should go talk to my psychiatrist

I cant take my anti-depressants because im happier without them and everyone in my family mentions i look really deranged and depressed while on the medications.

Hcg is so cheap that it almost doesn't matter if insurance pays for it or not. Some copays may even be higher than the cost of generic hcg.

dj75, I searched your old posts but the only test result I can find that you posted was LH, and it was low. How about if you post all your test results along with ranges, your age, and your symptoms so we can give you better answers?

Yes please post your tests with the ranges. I have had low T for over 21 yrs. I am 61 when I was 40 I started feeling very fatigued to the point I could not get out of bed to go to work. I went from Dr. to Dr. they could not find anything wrong with me so they tell me I am Depressed. I was on sick leave and had to go with the flow seeing a Dr. for Depression to keep on getting my sick pay. The went on for 5 yrs. being put on every kind of AD drug on the market. I was in a fog walking around like a Zombie and never felt any better. This dam near ruined my marriage and job. My Co. Dr. wanted to know why after 5 yrs. I was not getting any better. This Dr. told my wife and work that I liked being Depressed and don't want to get better. WTF is this now my wife wants a divorce and work wants me to go on disability. Then Prozac came out and I was put in it in 2 weeks I could not void it was very slow and I got a bad bladder infection and was told Prozac does not do this go see a Uro. The Uro. asked me why I was on all of these meds. in the last 5 yrs. anyone can see they are doing more harm then good. He told me he thinks I have Low T and tested me this man saved my marriage and job. But I was so screwed up from AD meds I had to go in to a Drug rehab hosp. for 30 days to get off the crap. As it turns out I was never Depressed but had Low T and started on TRT and was back to my old self.

I am not saying this is your case just telling my story. It is my opinion that if one goes to see a Dr. for Depression they never turn you away they treat everyone that comes in there office. Being on AD drugs when you have low T and are not depressed is worse then doing nothing. SSRI AD meds lower you T levels. Here is a link.

You are lucky your able to come here and talk 21 yrs. ago I had no one.

Umm...maybe they were hypogonadal BEFORE they began the treatment, and same is part and parcel of the actual NEED for their anti-depressant therapy?

The association between hypogonadsim and depression is a very strong one.

Yet this study in no way demonstrates that SSRI's lower T levels.
